"Healing."

Third Person's POV

Senia is in her first therapy session. Bryson didn't come because he wanted her to let everything out without being distracted or holding things back just because he is there.

Ms. Anges: "So tell me... when did this happen?"
Senia: "June 30th of this year. Around 1 something in the evening."
Ms. Anges: "Okay. You told me once upon a time that you were cautious of your surroundings because of him. Were you cautious then?"
Senia: "I'm not going to say I wasn't cautious but I do know that I wasn't scared.."
Ms. Anges: "Do you know the reason why you wasn't scared?"
Senia: "Because my boyfriend had been target practicing with me just in case it comes a time where I would have to defend myself against my ex.. Tim. And so I actually started getting real good at target practicing and it boosted up my confidence."

Ms. Anges nodded listening to everything Senia is saying.

Senia: "But all of that "I got good aim" talk went right on out the window when I seen Tim."

Ms. Anges: "I've seen people say what they were going to do in a situation but when they actually get in that situation, they have a different reaction. I'm a victim of that myself. I think it's actually a normal thing, that's why people say don't say what you're going to do until you actually get in that situation.. you are not the first person to do this and won't be the last. Don't beat yourself up about it."

Senia: "I can't help but to. Never in a million years did I imagine being responsible for someone's death.. let alone seeing someone get murdered."

Ms. Anges: "But you told me that Bryson pulled the trigger."
Senia: "He did."
Ms. Anges: "Okay so if you didn't pull the trigger then technically you are not responsible for his death. Matter of fact technically, you nor Bryson are responsible for his death because he put y'all in a 'kill or be killed situation' ."
Senia: "Yeah my boyfriend told me the same thing. No matter how many times I hear it, it still doesn't make me feel any better."
Ms. Anges: "Somebody was going to die that day Senia. It's no avoiding it. So would you rather things stay the way they are right now with him being deceased and you being able to live your life or would you rather switch things around with you and your boyfriend being deceased and Tim gets the opportunity to do the same thing to someone else or even worse.. you choose."

Senia thought about it. She really is grateful that she and Bryson are alive today.

Senia: "I would rather things stay the same..."
Ms. Anges: "Exactly."
Senia: "Wow I never even thought about it like that... so basically I saved his future victims."
Ms. Anges: "Yes you did. I'm not telling you to be happy about a murder but look at things on the bright side at least.."

Senia nodded.

Senia: "I uh.. I also have a secret that I'm keeping from a loved one."
Ms. Anges: "Okay, what is it?"
Senia: "I have not told my brother about who my boyfriend is. Matter of fact, he don't even know I have a boyfriend. But if he knew, I don't think his reaction would be too pleasant."
Ms. Anges: "Why is that?"
Senia: "Its kind of complicated... so my brother has a girlfriend. And his girlfriend has a brother. The brother of his girlfriend is my boyfriend best friend."
Ms. Anges: "Oh..."
Senia: "And I know how my brother thinks.. I don't want him thinking my boyfriend and his friend are on some tag team type of stuff."
Ms. Anges: "This might be a sensitive question but do you think they have the ability to be on that type of timing?"
Senia: "No. Me and Bryson have been close every since grade school so he's too deep in love with me to do that... and his best friend is a lover's boy so no."
Ms. Anges: "Well the truth will set you free. So you need to tell him. He might not like it at the beginning but eventually, I think he will get over it. You got to get all of that off of your chest sweetheart. That's one way you're going to heal from this shooting situation."
