Monday May 3rd 2:00pm-
The school day is just about over. I didn't meet anyone today. It's so hard to fit in. What can I possibly do to make friends here? I'm sitting in science 8th period and the afternoon announcements come on
"Attention all students on bus 19.."
My bus is #19.
"Your bus is running 10 minuets late. If you are on bus 19 please report to room 113 at this time, thank you."
I scrambled out of my seat and left the room. In the corner of my eye I saw some other girl get up and leave too. She was defiantly popular. I saw her today with a bunch of girls. She was pretty so that's probably why. A little short for her age. Anyways I was walking down the hall.
The girl said " Hey wait up!"
I turned around to see her standing 4 feet away from me. She gave me a quick smile and ran towards me. I'm a shy person so I just kept looking at the ground. It was weird I don't even know her.
"I'm Casey Griffin" she said.
I looked at her and said,
"Uh.. o-ok.. I'm... Emma.."
She looked at me for a while and then continued walking next to me. What was up with her, what did she want?
After 5 minuets of walking she said,
"Are you in buss 19?"
I don't know if I should tell her. She could be the meanest girl in the school. But I did because I was desperate for a friend.
I slowly replied "yeah I am"
"What street are you on?" Casey said.
What the hell is wrong with her!! She thinks in going to tell her. I didn't answer. We were right near room 113.
We walked in together. There was a monitor their and 6 other people. One girl was sitting on the teachers desk writing in a notebook. Casey dropped her backpack and ran right to her.
"Jessi! How come you weren't at lunch?" Casey said in excitement. I was just standing there watching them talk. Jessi turned and looked at me. Then she whispered something to Casey. The monitor came up to me and told me to sit until my bus came. So I did. I found this desk in the corner of the classroom. I sat there for about 20 minuets until Jessi walked over to me.
Jessi said, "who are you?"
"Um.. Im... Emma" I said back
She looked me up and down.
"I never saw you before. Why are you by yourself, huh?" Jessi said.
This girl Jessi was starting to get on my nerves.
"I'm new here it's my first day" I explained.
She laughed and said,
"Well let's get things straight. I run the school here. So stay out of my way and there won't be any trouble, got it?"
I choked on my breath. Jessi was trying to intimidate me, and it was working.
I just stared at her and she stared at me. She was obviously waiting for an answer. Just as I was about I speak the speaker turned on.
"Attention students waiting in room 113,your bus has now arrived. Teacher please escort your students to their bus at this time."
Jessi got up and walked away still looking at me. She left with Casey. I hit my stuff and walked out by myself. I had a chance with making a friend but I blew it. Casey seemed ok but I can tell I wouldn't like Jessi. When I stepped onto my bus it smelt like cigarettes. The bus driver was holding a pack. He stared at me just like everyone else. I sat in the back of he bus. Casey was sitting in the seat in front of me with Jessi. The bus started up to leave. We went past a park it was really pretty. I don't know why but it caught my eye. My bus ride was me staring out the window for 15 minuets. A couple minuets later the bus stopped at my stop. I got up and walked down the aisle. Casey shouted,
"Bye Emma!!"
The whole bus stared at me. I hated that. I quickly ran down the steps and up the hill. Jessi stared at me though the window as the buss pulled ahead. She was so creepy looking. Black short hair and bright green eyes. How does Casey like her? Casey was gorgeous. Long blonde hair and big brown eyes. It didn't seem right. I ran up my driveway. There was a note on the fort that said,
"Dear Emma,
I'm out food shopping with Jackson. I'll be back at 3:00pm (it was 2:30). Make your self a snack or something. Call me if you need me.
Love,
Mom xoxo"
I unlocked the door and ran inside. It was such a terrible day at school. I ran in my room and crashed onto my bed. I started crying. Why was school so hard? I wish I haven't moved.
