Picture is Tanner

I arrived home with something to put in the Relics Room. A werewolf tooth. While hunting, I encountered a wolf and ripped its tooth out. Surprisingly I didn't kill it, but it is missing a sharp canine tooth.

I place the tooth in the Relics Room and go get ready for school. I haven't slept in over 24 hours and I'm exhausted, but I know I can't miss any more school.

I change out of my clothes that have blood from the tooth on them and change into something somewhat presentable. I'm going to have to face Jace today, and Izzy.

By the time I'm ready, everyone is awake already. I head to the kitchen where my family is eating breakfast. Rory is wiping maple syrup on the shirt of my 15 year old brother Harry. Marrisa, who is the same age as Harry (not twins, but look so much alike) is laughing her ass off at something Tanner said. Hmm, I guess he's a heartthrob to girls of all ages. Nick, Zach, and Izzy still haven't come downstairs yet.

I take a seat next to Tanner and place my head in my hands, rubbing my eyes. I'm basically falling asleep while eating my cereal.

"So, where were you all last night?" Tanner asks me. He has his elbows on the table and raised his eyebrows.

"Don't wanna talk about it," I reply and stand up, grabbing my backpack. I take a look back at Tanner, who is shaking his head. "What?" I ask.

He starts walking toward the door, me trailing behind him. The others are coming down the stairs as we open the door. "Do you not trust me Jade?" Tanner whispers to me, not getting the attention of the other three.

"Of course I do Tan. I just don't want to talk about it."

He scoffs, "Whatever Jade."

************

Izzy hasn't attempted to talk to me the whole ride to school and now it's lunch time and she still won't talk to me. Yeah, I'm angry at her, but she usually doesn't ignore me like this or for this long.

Sitting at my usual table with Zach, I look around at the familiar faces in the room. Nick and Tanner are on the other side of the room with the "cool kids", surrounded by girls. Of course. Izzy and Manny are close by to them, smiling like lovestruck idiots. Ew.

I smile when I see Marissa and Harry sitting with each other and some other freshmen friends of theirs. They are all familiar except one of them. A kid I have never seen before with blonde hair is sitting next to Marrisa, whispering things into her ear, making her face turn red. Aww, Rissy has a crush!

I realize I've zoned out while Zach was talking to me about something that happened in his English class. I look back at him and start nodding my head, acting as if I know what he is saying.

I then feel all the hair on my arms stand up and I get goose bumps all over my body. What a weird feeling. I'm not even cold. A hand touches my shoulder and I jump. The hand quickly pulled away and I make a little whimper. What the hell?

I look at who touched me and it is none other than Jace King. Great. I was actually hoping I could avoid him.

"Can we, uh, talk?" he asks me. Amused by how uncomfortable he seems, I decide to annoy him a bit. See, I can be fun at times.

"Nah, I'm good," I say back and turn to my sandwich that I haven't touched since lunch started. I hear him growl behind me.

BANG!

I almost scream when a loud bang echoes throughout the whole cafeteria. It is completely silent and all eyes are looking my way.

There is a hole in the middle of my lunch table where Jace punched it. Who punches a table? I guess someone has temper problems.

"Get up. Now." A husky, and angry sounding voice growls into my ear. Everyone in the room is still looking at us. Izzy looks confused, as does Nick. Zach is still looking at the hole in the table and Tanner looks like he is about to punch someone in the face. He is a very protective person.

I slowly turn my head to look at Jace. "And if I don't?" He can't make me get up.

"Don't test me Jade." Jace's eyes are black, like very black. Yeah, he's angry.

Screw him, I'm not moving. I'm still angry. And I don't like mutts like him.

My vision is then turned upside down. The hell? I see nothing but khaki fabric. I realize that I was thrown over Jace's shoulder and was being carried out of the cafeteria.

I start kicking and punching his back, but come to the conclusion that doing that isn't going to do anything, but possibly make him angrier. I give up and just let him take me to wherever he has planned to go.

We've exited the cafeteria and I'm still hanging upside down over Jace's shoulder. I groan loudly, hoping for him to take the hint and put me down. But it's no surprise that he doesn't. I sigh and flop against his back, hoping this day will end soon.

***************

"I have a feeling you know about the, uh, mate situation," Jace says and rubs the back of his neck. We are currently inside of a supply closet with very dim lighting. Jace is trying to get me to talk to him and I'm wishing I had my silver knife that is in my backpack. Not for killing him, of course not.

"Wow, I've found the new Sherlock. Someone give the guy a badge," I'm obviously being sarcastic. Sherlock is a lot cooler than wolfy. "Yeah, I know about the mate thing. And let's get one thing straight before you go all possesive. Me, you, us, is not going to happen."

As I'm about to continue my rant I am slammed against a shelf in the closet. My shoulders are pinned to it. To be honest, that peaked my heart beat a little bit.

"You are mine, Jade. Look, I dont know how you know about werewolves or anything supernatural. You're only a human, but you probably know what the significance of a mate is to a wolf. Especially for an Alpha. So unless you want me to forcefully make you accept me, I wouldn't defy me again." Jace releases his hold on my shoulders and storms out of the closet. Not forgetting to slam the door closed behind him.

Ha, he is in for a big surprise when he finds out that I'm a Hunter. This day just got better.
