...his teeth sank into Trent's flesh. I heard numerous people scream and cry. Trent was losing blood fast, we couldn't help him. He was bit, he's gone. Trent's not coming back...
"Jade, do you know?" I heard my teacher, Mrs. Ford, call on me from up front of the classroom. I darted my eyes up at her and scowled. It's my first day back and she still is a heartless broad.
"Hmm, sorry can you repeat the question?" I asked in a sickly sweet voice with venom dripping off of my tongue. I guess she could hear the disgust in my voice because she gave me a look, warning me to cut the crap. I rolled my eyes.
"What year was Ronald Reagan elected president?" Well, I have no idea. I haven't been in school for four months, how does she expect me to know that? Now I'm stuttering like an idiot in front of my whole class. I can feel the nerds rolling their eyes at me and many of the other students quietly chuckling at my stupidity.
I felt a poke on my back and someone whisper, "1981"
"Umm, 1981," I called out. Mrs. ford gave me a nod and a forced smile. When she turned around to face the board I slumped down in my seat. I'm not focused, there is just too much on my mind right now. I'm still recovering from the battles and mourning for Trent. Trent was like another older brother to me. He trained me at early hours in the morning while everyone else was sleeping, he took care of me when I was sick and comforted me when no one else was there.. Trent was Tanner's biological brother, he was 5 years older than us but still acted like a kid. He meant the world to me. I looked up to him, he was my hero. Trent was killed by the werewolves, he was bitten. When a hunter is bitten, the person who was closest to you in life has to kill you. Tanner had to kill Trent after he was bitten and he has never been the same. He seems to have a dark storm cloud constantly hanging above his head.
Suddenly the bell rang, signaling that the period has ended and it is now lunch time. I started packing my things up, putting papers in my folder and stuffing it all in my bag, not bothering to stop thinking about the past.
"You're welcome," someone said from in front of me, breaking me out of my depressing thoughts. I looked up from my my opened backpack and at the person standing on the other side of the desk. Who was standing there was probably the best looking guy I have ever seen. He had hair like Nick but goldish-blonde and the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. They were brown and speckled with gold. His teeth were pearly white and his smile was contagious.
"Huh, what?" I asked after I stopped eye raping him.
"I said," he leaned his elbows on the desk and rested his head in his hands, "You're welcome,"
"For what?" I asked as I raised my eyebrows at him.
"Giving you the answer to the question,"
"Oh yeah, umm, sorry thanks. I didn't know it was you."
He chuckled a little and leaned forward on the desk. "I haven't seen you before, are you new here?"
"Not really. I attended in the beginning of the year, but umm, went on a community exchange trip for four months and now I'm back," I quickly lied about my absence. I could tell that he was new here because I have never seen him before and I knew almost everyone in this school. Yep, that's just me- little Miss. Social. "Are you new here?"
"Kind of. I moved here a couple of months ago." That's explains why I haven't seen him before. "I'm Jace," he says and sticks his hand forward with a smile.
"Jade," I say as I shake his hand. It may sound cliche but I felt sparks when I touched him. Like, literal sparks. I quickly pulled my hand away and looked at Jace's face. His eyes look darker than before and he is looking at his hand, confused and shocked. I guess he felt the sparks too. He quickly looks back up at me with his blackened eyes that quickly gain their original chocolate color back. If I wasn't a good observer, I wouldn't have noticed that change.
"I, uh, should go. My sister is probably waiting for me to give her money for lunch. So I, uhh, will see you later I guess," Jace scratches the back of his neck, probably uncomfortable with the awkward tension between us.
"Umm, yeah, sure I'll see you later," I say and look at my hands trying to remember the tingles I got from Jace's touch. When I looked back up, he was already gone.
(A/N: Yes, I understand that the names Jade and Jace are very similar, but Jade's real name is Jaden. I will mostly be saying Jade though throughout the story. I used these names because I really like them. All of the names in my story are names that I like a lot.)

I walked into the cafeteria and searched for Isabelle. I had to tell her about Jace. I could tell that he was different, not human. Years of training taught me how to detect what people really are. Jace isn't a vampire, they are usually really pale, and Jace has golden skin. I already crossed of many of the other supernatural creatures off of my mental list. Witches, wizards, hellhounds, ogres, etc. Shapeshifters, werewolves and banshees still remain.
I saw Zach sitting at a table in the corner of the room by one of the big windows. I rushed over to him and sat across from him. He was stuffing a sandwich in his mouth, struggling to chew the whole thing since it was so big. I just looked at him and shook my head.
"What? A guy's gotta eat!" He said with his mouth full, parts of his sandwich falling out and onto the table. Gross.
"Yeah, yeah," I said, waving my hand, ending what would have been an argument. "Have you seen Izzy?"
"Yep." I waited for him to tell me where she was but he just continued eating and eventually took out his phone and starting tapping the screen. I kicked him from under the table, causing him to yelp and drop his phone onto the tiled floor.
"Ow," Zach exclaimed clutching his shin. "What hell was that for!?"
"Tell me where she is!"
"Ugh. Izzy met this guy in second period, they hit it off and by the time 4th period came they ditched class and were making out by the boy's bathroom." I stared at Zach wide eyed. He looked up from his phone that he picked it up off of the floor and gave me a confused look. "What?"
"How do you know that?"
"I saw them. And I sure as hell wasn't going to stick around to watch." Zach continued talking but I already got up and was heading towards the restrooms. I looked back at where he was sitting and noticed that he was still talking. Some people were giving him strange looks. I couldn't help but giggle. Zach was just too cute.
