Family Day Pt. 4
YEONJUN POV
I found my father next to me. I assume he knew something. However, he simply looked relieved. "You & your brother had given me quite the fright, Yeonjun. I've heard you & your dorm have fallen unconscious more than once more." I sat up in bed having no previous memory of class with Jiwoo hyung.
I did however remember what I said to Taehyun as we all debated Jiwoo hyung' intentions. "Dad, you were a student here once. Did you know the dark mage everyone speaks of ?" My father froze as I looked at him. He certainly was terrified of what I asked. "연준아, 왜 물어봐요? 심도환은 1학년 때 얘기할 수 있는 게 아니에요." (Why do you ask, Yeonjun ah ? Sim Do-Hwan is not something they'd tell you as a First Year.)
I sighed as I traced the mark on my wrist. One I have no memory of mutilating my body with. "Beomgyu & I have a dorm mate. Other whisper that he is the son of the dark mage..." My father sighed, "I won't ask you or your brother to unfriend this dorm mate, but if those assumptions are true..."
I turned to look out the window. "What if they are true ? What does that mean ?" My father groaned as he chose his words carefully. "It means that your dorm mate could be a threat just like Sim Do-Hwan was. Or a bigger one... He could hold a power no one would ever wish to see again. The power to destroy & command a clan full of dark mages... A King."
"What of me then ? What of Beomgyu ? Your sons..." My father looked downright annoyed with my apparent obsession with the dark mage. However, my opinion remained. Taehyun very well could be the son of a dark mage given the amount of rumors circling around the council. "당신과 당신의 형은 당신입니다. 제 아들들이요... 두 분의 미래가 어떻게 될지 누가 알겠어요." (You and your brother are what you are. My sons... Who knows what future lies ahead for the both of you.)
It wasn't long before my father left when the bell sounded. One thought remained in my mind. Kang Taehyun won't rise a king & bring chaos like Sim Do-Hwan... I won't allow that on my conscience ever.
I just stared out the window in silence as I waited for the others to return.
