ELEANOR POTTER WAS starting her third year at Hogwarts with her twin brother, Harry, and their friends Ron and Hermione. Right now, she's walking on the sidewalk with Harry. Both of them were dragging their suitcases, not really headed for any specific place.

Eleanor accidentally blew up their Aunt Marge into a balloon and sent her flying into the sky, and before that, she yelled at Aunt Marge to shut up when she was talking bad about her and Harry's dead parents.

The twins stood in the middle of the road, out of breath from walking for so long with their heavy suitcases filled with their schoolbooks and other belongings.

They decided to take a break from walking and set their suitcases down on the sidewalk and sat next to each other. It was pouring outside, and they didn't have the right jackets to wear in the rain. They were so cold that they were shivering and they could even see their breath.

The streetlight above them flickered for a second and they both looked up at the sudden flickering. Then, the playground swings started swinging and other things were moving by themselves, like the teeter thing.

While Eleanor was putting her hair up into the ponytail since it kept blowing in her face, she saw Harry looking nervous and asked what was wrong.

"Harry, is something wrong? Why do you look so scared?" She asked before she saw what he was looking at that made him look so frightened. She saw a large black dog in the bushes on the sidewalk opposite them.

Harry stumbled back when a thin but tall train with bright lights was about to pass by them but it stopped in front of the two.

"What is that?" Eleanor asked as the train came to a halt.

A man suddenly stepped out and began reading off of some note cards he had in his hand.

"Welcome to the Knight Bus. Emergency transport for a stranded witch or wizard. My name is Stan Shunpike, and I will be your conductor for this evening."

He pocketed the cards and narrowed his eyes at Harry, who was still on the ground.

"Whatcha doin' down there?" He asked.

"I fell over." Harry answered.

"Whatcha fell over for?"

"I didn't do it on purpose." Harry stood up and picked up his suitcase.

"Well, come on, then! Let's not wait for the grass to grow." Stan insisted, rushing them to get onto the train.
