Forbidden

Chapter 3

Bella smiled softly when she saw the vampire take the bow of food. She turned around and walked back to the front of the cave. The sorceress sat down, brought her knees to her chest and sighed deeply. Okay. I delayed the whole 'Vampire eating my blood thing for now. But how long until he takes my blood?' She thinks to herself. Bella sighed and looked around the cave. The rocky walls were smooth with lines carved on them. The curved roof just towered above her. Bella suddenly felt like she wanted to explore this cave. She gets up and brought her arm up to her chest, curling her hand into a fist.

A ball of white light surrounded around her fist, lighting up the room. Bella looked around and realised that there were three corridors. The middle one led to Dettlaff, she knew that. The right and left were concealed by a curtain of ivy. Bella decided to go left. She parted the ivy curtains and stepped into the corridor. Horizontal lines were carved into the walls and snarling wolves stood on the lines. Bella walked down the hall and, after a while, found herself in a huge circular room. She looked around and saw little characters carved into the wall.

She looked to her left and saw a man kneeling in front of a woman. She was giving the man her hand and the man was kissing it. The woman looked like royalty and the man looked like a servant. Bella went to the next carving. This time the man and woman were now in the middle of the woods. Wolves flanked the woman. On top of her head was the name 'Ebony'. On top of the man's head was the name 'Viktor'. So the woman must be named Ebony and the man was named Viktor. Bella looked closer and saw that Ebony had some wolf like features. Her chin was narrow, like a wolves. Her eyes radiated danger and wisdom. She stood with her shoulders tense, as if expecting an attack.

Ebony and Viktor were now laughing. The wolves looked like they were keeping an eye out for danger.

The next carving looked like a wedding. But there was no audience. Bella gasped, realising something. This must be a love story! A Forbidden one! Mesmerised, she went to the next one.

Viktor was now smiling at her and Bella saw that he had fangs.

"A vampire?" She muttered. "Is Ebony a sorceress? If so then this relationship is forbidden."

It was true. She had asked Ermion, her mentor and teacher of Magic, if she could date vampires and he gave her a smack on the nose with a rolled up parchment and told her to not be stupid. Bella smiled. She hasn't seen him for so long... Does he know about Bella being tossed into the cave? Probably not.

She moved onto the next carving. Now Ebony was locked in a room and she was crying.

The next carving showed Viktor getting killed by a group of guards. He seemed angry yet sad.

The second last one showed Ebony sensing his death and screaming with a look of anguish.

Finally, Ebony had ripped her heart out with her sharp nails. Next to them were words in Elvish.

"'And with her last breath Ebony said' I'll see you in the next life My Love...' '" Bella whispered, tears running down her eyes. "Shit. That must've been me. But with who?"
