"Hey! What are you doing?! Unhand me this instant!" Bella yelled at the Skelligan warriors who were dragging her to a cave.

They tossed her inside and a druid walked to the front of the crowd. He raised his arms.

"The gods aren't happy with us!" He cried. "For we have let a witch into our lands! We have let her ruin it! Today we shall sacrifice her to whatever is in there! Boys!"

Three boys marched forward with pickaxes in hand. They raised their arms and brought the pickaxes down onto the side of the cave. Bella was terrified. She didn't want to be the whatever's lunch. She stood up and tried to run to them but to no avail. An avalanche of rocks tumbled down and blocked her escape. She jumped backwards and more rocks tumbled down from the roof. Bella sighed.

"Great." She muttered and looked around. "Might as well take a look at whatever is in here."

She walked forward and raised her right hand to her side. She clenched her hand and lightning crackled over her knuckles before becoming a ball of lightning. When she got deeper she heard a deep snoring sound. The sorceress swallowed and kept walking. In one part of the cave she saw light. She followed the light and entered a room that was carved into the rocks. Bella gasped in horror. Hanging upside down, from the ceiling, was a bat looking human thing. It was faceless and it's skin looked old and leathery. The only feature on its face was a large mouth, which was shut. On its back were two hooks and two, huge wings.

Claws the size of trees nearly scraped the walls and it had its arms crossed. Bella stumbled backwards and the lightning ball died in her hand. The only logical thing she could think of was to run screaming like a madwoman. But she wouldn't. No. She wasn't going to alert this... Thing... That she was there. She walked backwards and, when she was sure that it was safe enough, turned and walked as fast as she could to the front of the cave. The avalanche was still there. She raised her hands and said a spell then threw her hands at the rocks. A bolt of lightning hit the wall of rocks and the ground started to tremble. More rocks came tumbling down. Bella screamed and ran to the wall.

"Hey! Let me out! I don't think the gods would want this!" She yelled but there was no answer. "Hey! Hey!"

"Can't a vampire have two minutes of sleep?!" A deep voice roared.

Bella turned around and took her silver dagger out quickly. A whooshing sound was heard and the bat thing was flying into the room. He looked even more terrifying being awake than asleep. Bella flattened herself against the wall, in the corner, and started to tremble. Oh she was going to die. She was going to die. She was going to die! The bat thing swooped down and landed in front of her. It placed to arms either side and put his head close to hers.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" It growled out.

Bella took some time to answer. "I... I'm Bella Nodrovicas. I'm a... A sorceress. The Sk... Skelligans have thrown me in here." She stuttered out.

The thing wasn't satisfied with her answer. Bella was sure of it. For it growled low and huffed.

"And why did they throw you in here?" It asked in a low growl.

"W-well. They think you were sent to them from the gods to punish them. A-and-"

"Silence!" It yelled and Bella shut up.

The thing sighed. It took its arms away from the wall and walked away. Bella drew some courage and stepped forward.

"What's your name?" She asked it.

The thing turned its head. "Dettlaff." It said and left her all alone in that part of the cave, trembling.
