Katya did notice her father telling Adella that she could keep them as they looked under fed and maybe injured from the nest falling out of the trees. Katya made sure her father knew of her protest. She wanted to be the one who got to take care of the baby birds. Her father was paying more attention to his phone as he began to look up articles and read aloud over top of Katya. Adella was holding the nest in both hands, looking down at the birds instead of her feet and chanting softly about all the things they were going to get to do now."Okay lets see it says... If you can locate the nest nearby," he said looking at is phone.
"I have the room to keep them, and I can stay up all night with them" Katya plead.
"Your going to get my soft pink blanket, oh yes you are, and you can play in the sink and.." Adella said softly.
"the best thing to do is simply place the nestling" he read."Its not fair! Why dose she get to have them, I want them!"
"Your going to get some crackers, and you can have some of bracelets" Adella continued.
"back in the nest" He said trying to get thorugh the frist sentence.
"Dad please, her parents probably wont let her have them anyways" Katya begged.
" If you cannot locate the nest, leave the nestling where you found it or move it to a shaded area. The parents will come back." His eyes met Katyas as he finished reading.
"There not going to come back they have no idea where to look"
"Princess maria can not go back into the wild! She likes it here now." Both Katya and her father stop and look at Adella shes still staring down at the baby birds completely lost to anything else.
"Whooah whoa whoa– there girl okay! Look this is probably not the thing we should do-"
"But dad look at them there so dirty and hungry and its still so cold out" Katya cried.
"No girls. I was to quick to say that we should take them"
"Dad we already touched them now they will smell like us and the parents wont take the back plus how are they going to live in a nest on the ground"
"I would take you no matter how you smell sometimes, and if our house got ruined I would make us a new one." Katyas father was saying as he reached down and took the birds nest gently out of Adellas hands. Turning he walked back to the hideout with both girls complaining behind him. He set the birds down near the same spot they had found them and the ushered the girls inside the hideout.
"Come on girls we can sit in here and wait. We might be able to see there parents come and get them"
The girls waited for so long they started to imaging all the furnicher and decorations they would put up in there new hideout. After awhile Katyas father started to play games with them like I spy, tic tac toe, and then a mobile game on his phone.
The girls left for dinner willingly. Adella told family everything that had happened that day. Katya's family spend dinner looking at pictures of baby birds until they found one that looked like the babys birds. Black kites. Katya's mother read aloud from an article she found online while telling Katya and her father supplies to grab from around the house.
"Okay Dmitriy will you look in the freezer I think we have some ground turkey in there. Katya will you go into my bathroom. In the first draw on the sink there will be a small pink bin and inside you will find some tweezers. Okay good! Will you run the turkey under the cold water Dmitriy, we dont want to cook it just thaw it out some so it is soft. Theres one more problem..."
