What happened to us?

CHAPTER 16

  Teju: Mr Dev Patel aren't you taking it way too seriously? 😄

Dev: I mean why not... Look at you. Koi bhi aap ka boyfriend bana chahega

Teju: ya right

So teju and dev  met a year ago. Both of them volunteers for the NGO that involves the elderly. They bonded very well on the first meet itself. He was this charming cardiac surgeon while teju was simple and graceful. They were both rooted to their culture and their love for India was mutual. He was equally a foodie but talks comparatively less. He had that reserved persona and his aura was very intimidating when it involves his work but wen it comes to the oldies and teju he becomes this completely different person. He felt at ease with them.
They looked beautiful together. So the elderlies always wanted to set them up. They use to tease them and both teju and dev used to play along. (they were good friends as of now). Teju used to confide in him.

Dev: mmmm I gotta tell you something

Teju: yeah please

Dev: I have got to shift back to India. There is this very big opportunity for me to head the cardio thoracic dept in the prestigious bla bla bla hospital. So was thinking...

Teju: it's great dev. I m so happy for you

Dev: what about you? Aren't you ready for your comeback yet

Teju: I haven't thought about it lately. People might have forgotten me. And I too have lost confidence. And moreover I m at a very happy place now. So ya

Dev: I don't think so people can forgot you these easily. You are gorgeous. And if I m not wrong you have done enough good work to remind people of your worth. So my dear girlfriend, please show some little love for yourself too.
It's healthy you know. It improves your blood flow

Teju: my god... doc! really

Dev: yeah I know it's lame but can't help

Teju: neways it's not about me. It's about you. I m gonna miss you doc

Dev: me too girlfriend (so basically dev has been habituated of calling teju girlfriend) . I would have been the happiest if you could have join me

Teju: I wish

Dev: no worries. I will skype you. And don't you dare make another boyfriend in my absence

Teju: yes doc... saluting him

Both of them burst out in laughter echoing all the beautiful corners of the garden

It was now  months since dev left. Both teju and him used to talk on video calls. He used to tell  her about his new workplace and how he's slowly settling down, while teju used to talk about the antics of the elderlies and how they missed  him

One fine day wen teju was having her breakfast, her phone rang.

Teju: hello

Caller: don't you think it's time for you to comeback now

Teju: sir aap
