It was around 2pm when the neighbourhood ladies had finally left. Not to mention, Abhimanyu had made sure to give the Aunty trying to recruit Akshara to be her daughter-in-law a displeased stare down.
"You really need to take a chill pill, Bhai." Neil informed Abhimanyu, shaking his head at his brother.
"You really need to take a chill pill." Abhimanyu mimicked his brother. "Shut up, Neil." He smacked Neil on the back of the head.
"You know, I wish I never fall in love. Because after seeing how whipped you and Parth bhai have become, it's making me kind of nauseous. The love struck look you two fools give to Shefali and Akshara Bhabhi, please, save me God."
Abhimanyu glared at his brother before turning back to see the main hall had Jair been emptied and the house help were busy cleaning up after the guests.
Parth walked up to Manjiri, Shefali, Mahima, Akshara, Reem and Nishtha, paving way for Abhimanyu to follow in his brother's footsteps. A reluctant Neil followed because truthfully, he had nowhere else to go.
Abhimanyu went and took a seat beside Parth, just as Manjiri finished her phone conversation.
"Ji Maaji, that's what I'm was thinking too. It's going to be pointless and just a waste of time. So we'll see you soon? Yes. Exactly. Okay, great. Goodbye."
Abhimanyu looked over at Akshara, raising his brow in question, only for her to frown and shrug her shoulders in return.
As Manjiri ended the phone call, she looked up to see all her children looking up at her in confusion.
"What?"
"Is everything, okay?" Reem volunteered a question, when no one else did.
"Oh yes. I was just on the phone with both Suhasini ji and Suvarana ji, making plans for Shefali's pagphera." Manjiri replied.
"And?" Abhimanyu pressed, impatiently. Because Shefali bhabhi's pagphera meant a date was to be set for his and Akshara's Tilak, which honestly was the only thing he was concerned about.
"Oh. So turns out that Suhasini ji contacted her family priest and he said the most auspicious day for yours and Akshara's Tilak is either in 12 days, or we will have to wait for 3 months."
Abhimanyu and Akshara looked at each other worriedly. Abhimanyu felt like he was about to go into cardiac arrest any minute now. 3 months?! For the Tilak? That would mean Akshara and he would not be getting married till at least 6 months. That was hell of a long time to be away from her.
Akshara gulped, her heart breaking at the thought of staying away from Abhimanyu for even a day, let alone 3 months which could possibly turn into more.
"However, we didn't like the idea of waiting, so we are going to push forward with your Tilak in 12 days." Manjiri added, dousing the flames in Abhimanyu's chest.
Abhimanyu and Akshara looked at each other, giving each other small sighs of relief. 12 days. 12 days and they would become official. Spoken for. Taken.
"Which means Shefali's pagphera is going to be pushed until the Tilak. So instead of us going tomorrow, Shefali and Akshara would leave for Udaipur a day or two before your Tilak and we will join them later, completing both the ceremonies. Unless of course you two have any objections." Manjiri looked in between Abhimanyu and Akshara.
"Bhai probably has only one objection, or rather question Maa. He's probably wanting to ask if we can skip straight to the actual wedding." Neil commented, earning a round of muffled laughter from the room, including an embarrassed Akshara whilst Abhimanyu glared at his younger brother.
