To the naked eye, Namor looked like an average man with a rather likeable face. But there was something about him that Shuri couldn't quite make out. She was usually good at reading people and when she had a guess about someone, she was usually right.

Her father used to tell her that they were signs that Bast gave her to take care of her, but she said that it was just her normal paranoid attitude. She was constantly reminded of her father's laugh when she talked about her suspicions of someone and how he gently shook his head in amusement as he listened to her.

She used to rely a lot on that 'sixth sense' of hers that would kick in from time to time, and she started to trust it a lot more since the day of her father's accident. She remembered how she hugged him asking him to stay a while longer because she felt that something was not right.

If only T'Chaka had listened to her youngest daughter and stayed a few more minutes. That would have made a big difference.

And very surely, she would not be in front of that man who caused her some curiosity. Helplessly, she scanned him with her gaze, from bottom to top, but when she noticed that he was looking at her too, she blushed and turned her face completely to her right.

The new cast members sat at the table and the director then started talking about the schedule, the preparation they needed to start, how long the production would last and so on. But no matter how hard Shuri tried, she couldn't help but be distracted by the way Namor was looking at her with a small smile on her face.

This did not go unnoticed by her cousin, N'Jadaka did not trust Namor, he knew about the rumors that had spread around the campus in the last semester of T'Challa and Namor. And if they were true, then it was better if he didn't come near her.

N'Jadaka never understood why his cousin had defended his friend so much, perhaps it was because of his noble spirit or because, according to him, he was a fool, too noble to do what had to be done.

"Hey aunt! Have you seen what is happening there?" N'Jadaka asked Ramonda, since she was the one he was sitting next to, that and because he knew she would be a good ally to hers. Then he surreptitiously pointed a finger at Namor.

Ramonda saw the man and followed his gaze to see that he was watching, to realize that her daughter was the object of his admiration and his smile. Something inside her activated, her maternal instinct was on and ready to get that brazen fired if necessary.

It was true that Ramonda had seen Namor a few times when he and T'Challa were studying together at Boston University. But years had passed and the boy she remembered was nothing like the man who was shamelessly flirting with her daughter. Or at least that was how she and her nephew saw it.

"I don't like this," Ramonda hissed, as she settled back into the chair, "I wonder what T'Challa's reason was for wanting him here?"

Ramonda thought for a bit and then added, "It's true that he's a good actor, according to what the critics say, but it's been a long time since I last saw him. I'm sure a lot has changed, and maybe not for the better"

N'Jadaka made a small face. "Maybe we should give him the benefit of the doubt," he suggested, wanting to sow doubt. "Maybe he just found out about the casting proposal and got selected"
