August 31, 2018.
Today were 2 important days, wonyoungs birthday and the winners of produce 48.
I've known wonyoung since i was 7. She offered me her place on the swing since there weren't any left and she saw my sad face. Since that day, me and her did everything together, we played together, we talked nonstop, we were basically inseparable.
I gave wonyoung a self made bracelet with her name on it.
"Thank you Y/N, i appreciate it!" She hugged me as she spoke.
I've always liked wonyoung's personality, she was almost always cheerful and always forgave people no matter what. I realized everytime she spoke to me, i would get this weird, calming feeling, almost as if butterflies were flying in my stomach, but not literally. I always shrugged it off because she probably didn't feel the same way.
A little later, the man on the speakers announced the members who are gonna be in the new girl group, IZ*ONE.
My dream was to be a kpop idol, at the age of 9 i pretended to sing and dance infront of my plushies, it was a fun time.
The adrenaline rushed to me as he was about to reveal the 12 members, i hoped one of them was me, no matter what place.
He slowly spoke:
12th place: Lee Chaeyeon
11th place: Kim Minju
10th place: Kim Chaewon
9th place: Honda Hitomi
8th place: Kang Hyewon
7th place: Kwon Eunbi
6th place: Yabuki Nako
5th place: Ahn Yujin
I grew impatient as anxiety took over me, i want to make myself and my parents proud, it would be a shame for me to lose.
4th place: Choi Yena
3rd place: Jo Yuri
2nd place: Miyawaki Sakura
Me nor Wonyoung were announced, my breathing rapidly increased as he was about to reveal the last member, and main center of the group.
I pictured myself as the center in the group catching everyone's attention, being praised for my singing and dancing.
My thoughts were interrupted when i heard the sentence that shattered my soul.
1st place: Jang Wonyoung
Everyone cried tears of joy while i looked down at the floor, disappointed in myself.
However, i took the time and congratulated wonyoung on her win and alot of luck along her career.
And so, IZ*ONE was formed.
