A few days passed, and only then did Haerin know that Kim Minji was a transfer student from another school, to be precise, a student under a sports scholarship.

The school said that she had a high score in the high jump sport, and Minji could no longer be in her previous school, then she transferred to this school. Rumours were that Minji's studies were terrible, she repeated two years and with her age, she bullies people, her methods cruel, which got reported by many students. Her previous school did not want to lose face further and that's why Minji got forced to transfer out. It was said that the Kims behind Kim Minji were powerful and that explains how Minji has the ability to transfer to the best high school in Busan this easily.

Haerin saw all this on her phone, she read the anonymous comments mixed with some sneaky photos of Kim Minji from different angles about Minji's incoherent and illogical story. One said that the nose had been corrected, and another said that no matter how you look at her she looks like a bully. Another said that there were enough rich scumbags in this god-forsaken place and here came another, is this a gathering for scumbags?

Rumours were flying everywhere and Haerin locked her phone, looking to her right. The person in the discussion was sitting right next to her.

Haerin reached below her desk and brought out a pencil and wrote down on a piece of paper, "Will unnie bully people?" After a second thought, Haerin erased the line and wrote, "Unnie, can you borrow me your notes from the last lesson?"

After writing the memo, she folds it and places it on Minji's desk. The season was entering autumn and the wind blew slightly, the windows not closed tightly, causing the folded post-it note to flutter up and down.

Minji was sleeping during class and when the wind blew again, the few strands of hair on Minji's head flutters around. Haerin stared at this sight for a while before looking away, pulled out her notebook and drew a girl with no expression.

Kim Minji was not pale, she had a healthy colour, Haerin thought as she looked at her wrist. Paleish-white, the veins below her skin were purple. She hates it, the weak white colour, no matter how you look at it, white was just the epitome of weakness.

Regarding Minji, Kim Minji was Kang Haerin's version of the unnie who gave her a towel when she was wet. She remembered that day when Minji introduced herself. Minji was tall, her voice deep, and her name, beautiful. She was older than Haerin by two years. Before Haerin could react, Minji stretched out her hand, her big palm and slender fingers. Haerin subconsciously closed her eyes, only feeling a slight squeeze on her cheeks and the warmth of her fingertips, it was more like touching than touching her cheeks.

Minji touched Haerin, this kind of cognition made her feel like an electric current flowing through her fingertips to connect with her easily. A bathroom is never a place for romance. Haerin knows this truth well, it is damp and cramped, and the innermost corner is covered with moss.

Minji removed her hand, her eye looked down, her lips opened, and sound came out of her mouth like she wanted to say something. Suddenly, the lights went out, it was dark everywhere accompanied by the sound of the water gushing through the pipes. Haerin heard Minji's gentle sigh and her gentle voice, "Does it hurt?"

Haerin didn't reply, the places where it was supposed to hurt were now burning.

"Kang Haerin."

Minji's voice broke her train of thought, she passed her notes to Haerin. Minji uses a black notebook, with bookmarks sticking out of the book. After calling her, she started to pack her stuff, she reached for her jacket below the table, as though classes were over.

"There is still one more period," Haerin reminded. hands rubbing the cover of the book, "Hong seonsangnim is very strict."

Minji had a stoic face as she grabbed her hair with a hair tie, tying it as high as she could, "It doesn't matter."

"Where are you going?"

"SKipping class, it's a little boring," Minji said as she turned around to look into Haerin's eyes. Their eyes were bright as if they could talk. "I heard that the street near here is very interesting."

Haerin thought about it for a while before smiling unconsciously, "really?"

"you should smile more Haerin," Minji said, giving herself a finishing touch and straightening the brim of her hat. "There's a lot of eateries, roasted chestnuts, tteokbokki, etc. I'll trouble you with the notes for the next class."

"Hm?" Haerin said.

Minji blinked before she said, "You heard me right, shouldn't you help me for the notes when I lent you mine, Kang Kitty?"

"Kang Kitty?"

"Mhm."

Minji spoke slightly softer to Haerin and leaned over to get closer. She smiled a slightly restrained smile. Haerin vaguely understood that this was a joke among friends. It was a long time ago when she was treated well and friends would make jokes, saying she had a cat-like face.

"I-I'm not a cat!" The girl called Kang Kitty said with a serious demeanour.

"Is it now?" Minji said, trying to stifle her laughter.

Haerin heard her laugh even though it was soft, she looked at Minji and gave her an eye smile.

Both eyes looked at each other, staring at each other in a stalemate. Haerin looked away first as she played with her fingers against Minji's notebook. Minji's laughter gets louder as Haerin heard the familiar laughter and smiled even wider.

"Minji-ah," Haerin started.

"Where's the unnie? Uri Haerinnie is a little rude hm?"

"T-this has nothing to do with manners! Besides, aren't we in the same year?" Haerin pouted.

"Mhm, if you say so."

Minji looked at Haerin, spending time with Haerin made her find out Haerin actually has a lot of aegyo. At first, she thought that Haerin was really introverted and depressed, a little boring lonely, pitiful yet beautiful junior.

Minji was older than everyone by two years, meaning she studied for two more years, the contents of the book didn't follow Minji though. Dirty things like exclusion and isolation are common. Of course, she had been a victim and was still a victim, although she no longer cared. Minji thought of the first time she saw the wet Haerin, the clearly visible spots on the cheeks and then a complete face, a pretty face.

Like everyone else, Minji naturally wouldn't complain to be close to someone beautiful.

"If you copy down the notes for me... Do you like roasted chestnuts? I'll buy some back for you," Minji said as she slung her bag across her shoulders.

"What about the self-learning we have in the evening?"

"Yeah, I'll be back."

With that, Minji got out of class through the back door the moment the teacher walked in the front door.
