"HUH! Watch where you're going!" I shout at the man bustling past me as he bounces into my shoulder. "You watch it!" He snaps as my coffee splashes all down the front of my coat.
"Ugh! Really?!" I then grumble in shock.
He doesn't even stop, he just keeps on striding past me. But I make sure to burn his face into my memory. If I ever see that son of a bitch again, I'll kick him square in the nuts. "Fucking jerk!" I shout towards his general direction as he scurries away.

"Ivy, my god, what the hell happened?" Cora asks eyeballing the giant coffee stain on my white shirt. "Some pompous asshole ran into me on the way here. He knocked my coffee all over me" I groan as I grab a handful of napkins and try to soak up the remainder of the coffee that's still dripping down into my cleavage."People in this city can be such dicks!" She scoffs. "Well, I do have some good news, are you ready?" She excitedly asks. "Yes, I need some good news today!" I sigh as I plop down on her couch. "Do you remember me telling you about Jeb?" She asks me. "Jeb? Sort of, but not really" I reply laughing. Cora tends to talk about a new guy every week. She comes on strong and can be slightly needy, something that guys have a lot of trouble getting past, so they never last very long. But once you get to know her she's actually quite a sweetheart.
"Jeb is my friend that works over at the college! Remember? Professor Jeb?!" She says adamantly. "Oh yeah, him...he was banging some girl in the library and they got busted, that Jeb, right?" I ask. "Yes, that Jeb" she laughs.
"Well...he's invited us to his staff campus mixer tomorrow night at Shady's over on 9th street." She excitedly tells me. Jeb isn't actually a Professor, he's a teaching assistant but Cora loves to embellish.
"Oh...cool" I reply sounding completely unenthusiastic. "IVY! This means hot, smart, professional men with real jobs!" She says. "I know, I'm just so tired of us going out every Friday only for it to end the same way. The men in this town are all toxic. I give up on dating Cora, I'm exhausted" I tell her. "Okay, and I get that, but hear me out, you can give up after Friday! At least give me one more night girl? That's all I ask." She pleads with me.
I sigh "okay, this is it though, this is the last time! I need a break" I tell her. "Yay!" She exclaims as she giddily bounces up from her seat to hug me. "Here! Let's celebrate! She giggles as she pulls two cold beers from the refrigerator. "Cora, it's 10:00am!" I say laughing as she hands me a beer. "This Friday will be different, I promise!" She says clinking her beer bottle against mine. I roll my eyes and smirk, not sure if I actually believe that, every Friday has become like Groundhog Day.

"Wow...look at all of these smart people!" Cora says to me as we walk into the bar. "My god, there's tweed suit jackets everywhere...and some even have elbow patches!" I giggle leaning into her ear. "Cora!" Jeb exclaims from the end of the bar waving to her. "Hey!" She shouts back as she scurries towards him.
