Ruby/Red Diamond and the Crystal Gems

A Friend Forgotten

I will eventually finish the picture of her, but for now... story time.

Garnet picked up the limp gem at Steven's feet and told Pearl and Amethyst to take the plants to Rose's garden while the rest of them warped back to the temple.

After Garnet, Steven, and Connie warped back to the temple they layed the gem on Steven's bed so she could rest.

C: "Hey Garnet? If you knew this was going to happen, why did you let me come?" G: "Because Steven asked for you to come." Steven turned around at the mention of his name and was now digging his toes into the ground trying to hide the blush on his face.

G: "Besides, there needed to be an excuse for Steven to stay by the warp pad." C: "Oh..." Connie started blushing again.

There was shuffling coming from Steven's bed. All three of them walked over to this new gem.

Garnet had a huge smile on her face when the other gem woke up and looked at her. Then she frowned. G: "What happened to you Red?"

The other gem started to growl. "Who are you and how do you know that?" Then Garnet did the least expected thing, she unfused in front of this stranger. R: "Hey Red..."

The gem just sat there, stunned. Then she jumped on Ruby. "Ruby! I thought I'd never see you again!" They were hugging each other.

Saffire cleared her throat to get their attention. They stopped hugging. R: "Oh yah, Red this is Saffire, Steven, and Connie. Guys, this is Red."

"Not quite, Ruby... technically I'm, Red... Dimond now." Saffire and Steven took out their weapons, Steven doing a little dance in his head for managing to pull out his shield, and got into a fighting stance. Connie side-stepped behind Steven feeling out of place with all of these gems so close to her.

Red Diamond ducked behind Ruby for protection. R: "Hey, what are you guys doing? She's my friend!" The the two gems put away their weapons and the three of them stood there kind of akwardly.

Then the warp pad activated signaling the return of Pearl and Amethyst... then Pearl saw the stranger gem standing next to Ruby and completely flipped out. She summoned her spear and charged the gem.

Ruby facepalmed and summoned her gauntlets. Once Pearl was close enough, Ruby grabbed the spear and flipped Pearl onto the empty bed... Amethyst was uninterested. R: "Again, SHE'S MY FRIEND!" This time it was Saffire's turn to facepalm.

P: "Oh, well..." she got off the bed and dusted herself off. "I'm sorry I tried to attack you miss..." RD: "Red Diamond." P: "Miss Red Diamond... wait, Red Diamond?"

S: "I think it's time for some explinations..." P: "I agree."

RD: "I guess you're right..."
