This is the beginning of your new life. You came across this town and decided that moving there might be a good idea. You thought you could explore the town to become more familiar with it as you unpacked your belongings in your new apartment. You put your belongings down on the floor and stopped unpacking them. After giving it some thought, you made up your mind and took your keys to your apartment.

You're now walking around, it's night. You probably should've explored earlier or tomorrow. Scolding yourself, you noticed a store to your left. A candy store more specifically. You stare at it for a moment, then your stomach began to growl. Rolling your eyes, you walked in the store. Noticing the presence of a male cashier. He looks at you with a tired look.

"Welcome to the Candy Club, how may I help you?" He asked, trying to keep up a happy tone. You hold in the urge to raise your eyebrow at him in concern but shook it off. "Uhh, do you guys have any [insert fav candy]?" You asked with a small smile, trying to not come off as rude or awkward. "Yeah, how much of it do you want?" He asked casually. You answered him and said that you only wanted 2 of them. He then proceeded to put the amount of candy that you asked in a bag and handed it to you. You grabbed it from him and looked at his face, the bags under his eyes are extremely noticeable.

"Do you need any like, help? Or.. assistance? You seem tired," He slightly widened his eyes and his lips formed an 'o'. He quickly shook himself, "Uh, yeah, no, sure- I GUESS??" He said, stumbling on his words, unsure. You laughed a little at him,  finding his awkward personality funny and cute. 'Wait, cute?' You cringed at yourself. 'Calling a guy cute when you just met him is weird, wtf Y/N.' You suddenly felt a tap on the shoulder and you snapped back to reality. "I guess you can help, but, I'm going to need you to pay for the candy," He said with a deadpanned look. "Oh! Sorry, I forgot I even had this," You say, fumbling through your bag looking for the cash. After a short minute, you took out 10 bucks and handed it to him.

"Here, what's your name, by the way?" You asked. "Kevin. What's yours?" He replied as he gives you your change. "Y/N," You say, putting your change in your bag. "Soo.. what can I help with?" You questioned, waiting for an answer. "There really isn't much to do around here except stand in front of the cash register and wait for customers for hours," Kevin sighed. "BUT, you can go to the back and stock up some candy," He continued. "And if you ever consider working here, I'd warn you to stay AWAY from 2 kids that are dressed up as a pumpkin and skeleton. They've brought me so much trouble a few months ago," He finished and rubbed his temples with a small groan.

"Really? Like what?" You say, intrigued. "You don't wanna know," He bluntly responded with a frown. You shrugged it off and asked Kevin if you could go to the back already, obviously, he said yes and let you proceed.

2 hours has passed, you helped Kevin as much as you could. You and him seemed to keep each other entertained, Unfortunately, your arms were starting to hurt. "Hey, my shift's over," Kevin says as he walks over to you. "Thanks for helping, by the way," He smiled. "Your welcome, like you said earlier, I might consider working here," You say and softly elbowed his arm teasingly. Kevin's eyes slightly widened. "Oh right, I haven't seen you around here. This town is pretty small, so I most likely recognize everyone here. I'm surprised I didn't realize sooner?" He replied, surprised. "I suppose it's time to go. I should probably go back home and continue unpacking," I sighed, not really feel like unpacking my stuff while checking my the time on my phone.

"Holy fuck. It's fucking 1 am, and I came in here WALKING. I am not going to survive walking out this late at night," I say and face palmed myself, disappointed that I didn't choose to drive. Kevin's face had a slight look of concern, then hesitation. After 10 seconds, he made up his mind. "I can drive you home as a thanks for helping me," He suggested. You look up to him, surprised. "Wait, actually?" You uttered out. "I mean, yeah, it won't be a problem. Just as long as you tell me the directions to your house or apartment," He mumbled shyly. You give him a smile.

After he gives you a ride back to your apartment, you both exchanged numbers and thanked him for the ride. He smiles softly as you walk in your apartment, then drove off.

You stretched your whole body because of the amount of candy you were stocking for the past 2 hours. You then looked at your unpacked belongings that's neatly set to the ground. "It's a good thing that I didn't just throw them straight to the ground.. or else I would've came back with a whole mess to clean up," You mumbled to yourself. You looked around your new home, and as expected, there's nothing here but one furniture, which is a sofa. You could sleep on the sofa with a blanket to get rest for tomorrow, because you have a whole lot of unpacking to do. You scolded yourself for buying WAYY too much stuff in the past. Your suitcase was barely holding on, god damn.

As you pulled out a blanket from a suitcase, you remember that you have Kevin's number now and that you should probably edit his contacts. "I'll do it tomorrow, whatever," You quickly dismissed it as you lay down on the sofa and drifted off to sleep.
