Since you first met Kevin eight months ago, the two of you have been close friends and are now coworkers in the Candy Club. When you first saw him, you thought he was just cranky and unpleasant, but as you got to know him, you realized how chill he was. He was nice and gentle towards you, but not too gentle. He's also sarcastic and still a bit grumpy. You've also encountered the 2 kids Kevin warned you about.. a lot of times. You can now understand why he hated his job.

Halloween was just around the corner on the corner, it's October 21 today. At the Candy Club, you and Kevin were interacting as normal. While you listened, Kevin was ranting off about the boss to you for making you and him work for a full week. He was also ranting about how he just wanted to go home. Obviously, you were disappointed about it as well, but money is money. The money may be meager, but at least it will satisfy your grumbling stomach. You looked at the time, it's unfortunately 4 am right now.

You were worn out and drained as well. To divert yourself, you looked at your phone, but when you did, you discovered that you were still viewing the earlier news. It mentioned a wanted serial killer by the name of "Bob Velseb," who had broken out of his prison cell and was now at large. You didn't really care since it's 1 out of a trillion that you'll ever encounter a serial killer.

You put your phone away and looked at Kevin, who seemed to be bored out of his mind and spacing out now. "Hey, Kev," You called out to him. "Hm?" He turned and responded. "Have you seen the news? There's a serial killer running loose apparently." I say, trying to make a conversation. "Really? Well, let's hope that psychotic killer gets captured or something, I don't really pay attention to the news much since I work here for literal HOURS," He grunted then sighed.

"Ugh, I know," You agreed. "I'm going to kill myself if I have to go on another day of working for a full 24 god damn hours," You finished. Kevin looked at you, raising an eyebrow, but then rolling his eyes. "Don't be so dramatic, Y/N," Kevin says teasingly.
"Yeah, right," You laughed at his tone. "Guess it's my fault for insisting to work here, damn," I grunted in disappointment. "You're forgetting something. You have me to keep you company," Kevin replied sharply with his eyebrow still raised. "Oh, yeah," You laughed again.

You and Kevin spent another night working and chatting. Wasn't really worth it because barely anyone came by to buy anything, but you still appreciated Kevin's company and he appreciated your's too. He'd joke around with you and sometimes even matches your energy. He would legit be by your side no matter what, you both were practically inseparable now. You noticed that your cheeks would often flush pink whenever you and Kevin interact.

'Oh no,' You quickly thought to yourself. 'Do I have feelings for Kevin?' As soon as you thought about that, you quickly turned away from Kevin, your face now fully pink. Kevin looks at you as if you were an alien. "Is something wrong? I know how much we've been working, so.." He quietly finished, waiting for your response. "I'm fine, just rubbing my burning eyes," You chuckled and let out a fake groan. Kevin looked hesitant, but shrugged it off and continued staring at the entrance, waiting for someone to come in.

It's finally time for you and Kevin to FINALLY go home after working for hours. You looked at your phone to check the time and— "HOLY FUCK, IT'S 11 AM!?" You screamed at yourself, making Kevin flinch at your sudden outburst. You immediately apologized and hurriedly got ready to go home. As soon as you walked out of the store, you could hear a faint 'bye,' come out from Kevin. You waved but didn't turn your head to look back at him. 'Crap, it's been a long time since I've had a crush. God damnit,' You thought to yourself as you walked to your car, worried.

You're now at home, comfortably lying in bed while scrolling through TikTok. You suddenly notice a text message from Kevin. You tapped on it, curiously.
'Hey, wanna hang together next week? I heard there's going to be a carnival nearby and you seem the type of person to like games. Only if you want to though,'
Your cheeks goes rosy pink, how considerate of him.
'Of course I do you idiot, lmao. Might as well catch some fresh air instead of mopping around the house all day,' You typed in and quickly sent it to him, waiting for his response.
'Jeez, you sound like a depressed shit,'
'That's because I am,'
'Alright, alright. We'll meet up at the carnival next Friday at 12 pm. I'll send you the address,'
'Damn, that early? I'd be half asleep on all the rides,'
'Shut up, most people make their children wake up at 8 am just to be early. Be grateful I'm not like them 🙄,' You giggled at his response and finally agreed.

It's now the day you and Kevin hang out. You're a little nervous, sure. But it's just Kevin, nothing to be nervous about, right? You start to sweat, maybe you overdressed a bit, or maybe you look weird. You pulled up to a Halloween themed carnival. It looked incredibly pretty instead of scary considering it had mostly LED lights instead of spooky props. You waited at the front of the entrance, occasionally glancing around for any sign of Kevin. A few minutes later, Kevin finally arrived, looking incredibly rushed. He jerked his head around until he saw your figure. He sighed and walked towards you.

"Jeez, I thought you left because of my tardiness," He confessed, slightly laughing. "Nah, I would never do that to you," You giggled, then looked at his clothes. He was wearing casual clothes, nothing much. Though he still looked good. "Let's go, the money inside my wallet is practically praying to be given away for food," I joked, walking in the carnival. Kevin playfully rolled his eyes and walked next to you with a slight smile. This was going to be a long day.
