The sky was blotched by puffy gray clouds, floating aimlessly. Under the sun, constantly being blocked than reappearing once more, was Goldie Locks. She was on a walk in the woods when she noticed a cottage. This cottage looked familiar, its paint the color of a mid-afternoon sky, its shingles white as snow. Goldie Locks stumbled closer to the house out of curiosity.
Like a whale breaching for water, her stomach growled, announcing her hunger. Maybe someone's home and I could ask for a snack. The woman thought to herself. She stepped forward, smoothing the front of her dress. Giving a fine rap on the wooden door, she awaited an answer.
No answer
She knocked once more, pushing the door ajar. In the house she went, looking for the owner; the thought came to her mind that maybe something had happened to them and they couldn't move. "Hello?" Her voice echoed through the whole house.
Empty
As she turned heel to leave she noticed three bowls on the table, one still steaming. She made her way to the blue bowls. He stomach growled once more. Thus, she grabbed a spoon and scooped up a generous amount, placing it on her tongue. Burning! Dear lord, it was scalding!
Goldie opened her mouth, stuck out her tongue and pushed the molten porridge off using her teeth. She took in several breaths before moving to the next bowl of porridge. Again she used the utensil as it should be used and ate a sample. Cold, was all she thought. It cooled her singed mouth but the lack of heat and texture made the primrose haired girl think of a mouthful of slugs.
At that, she almost threw up. Okay, once last one! She tasted the last bowl, it was perfect. Perfect temperature, texture, and taste. Like a wolf who'd gone days without a meal she practically inhaled the food.
Now satisfied, no longer hungry, she had a desire to sit in rest. The inhabitants of this house probably wouldn't mind.
(Next chapter coming 3/31/15...maybe.. It gets better)
