Michael was in his bedroom when he heard the door open. Startled, he slowly got up from his desk and sneaked to the kitchen. Michael began frantically looking for a weapon to use. He searched the cupboards quietly but quickly for the intruder knew too much already, no matter who they were. He found what he was looking for, the large metallic blade glistened in the dark kitchen.
Mary was in awe of what she saw. The boy scholar was not only very messy (which was against the Scholar law) but he was deeply troubled. She had picked up a notebook lying around and had started reading a section labeled "How leaders should be chosen", it explained how the scholar's way of picking their successors was unjust and that the people should be allowed to pick their own leader (not leaders for Michael was against this as well). Mary dropped the book. She could not believe her eyes, how could Michael ever think of such awful things, what had he become?
Michael saw the intruder but he could not make out who it was. He knew that the figure was a woman only because she was wearing a skirt. She was sitting down and appeared to be reading something, a journal. The boy knew that no matter who this woman was, she knew too much to leave the apartment alive.
