The next morning, Hazel had woken up with immense pain, as she had predicted. The second day of your period is always chaotic. She had already had to take some meds for the pain and change pads many times, and the amount of blood she's losing is making her tired and weak.

Her grandparents were going away for the week; just the two of them were going to Nottingham to visit old friends, which they had planned for a few weeks now. This meant that Hazel would be all alone in the house, which she didn't complain about.

"Are you sure you'll be alright?" Her grandmother asked her.

"I'll be fine," Hazel assured her; she was standing by the door, wrapped in a blanket, as she was saying goodbye to them.

"Ok, we'll see you in a week, darling," her grandmother kissed her cheek.

"See you soon. Drive safe." She smiled at her, quickly waving goodbye to her grandfather too, who was already near the car.

As her grandparents left, she went back to her room and laid down. She had to eat breakfast, but she wasn't hungry at the moment; the cramps distracted her from everything, and she didn't have the energy to even sit or stand. She had to just lay down and get some more sleep.

It was lunchtime, and Mason was sitting at the table with Ben, Reece, Ruben, and Trevoh at Cobham training centre. They had all asked him about the date today, and unfortunately for Mason, he had to break the news to them that it wasn't happening today.

"We rescheduled," Mason answered the question.

"What, why?" Trevoh asked confused.

"She wasn't feeling too well."

"That's a shit excuse; what did you do?" Ben said, completely ignoring the fact that it was actually true.

"She's not lying, mate; you don't know anything," Mason said, slightly annoyed.

"Alright," Ben put his hands up and surrendered; "you should check up on her then," he suggested.

"What?" Mason looked at him confused.

"If she's not feeling well, why don't you go check up on her? I think she will appreciate it." Ruben agreed with Ben's suggestion.

"Tell me why I should take advice from you two." Mason looked at them.

"Unlike you, we've dated multiple people."

"Is that supposed to be a good thing?" Mason looked at Ben.

"Obviously...I'm a wanted man," he said, proud of it.

"That or maybe you're a fuckboy and can't stick with one girl," Mason dissed him, causing the other boys to laugh.

"Alright, alright, but is it really that bad of an idea?" Ben asked

"What if it's just creepy?" Mason thought

"You're overthinking things again," Trevoh said.

"Just go; trust us...this time," Ruben said.

Mason decided to listen to his friends in the end. Since he knew Hazel was on her period, he went to the store to grab some things for her to eat, hoping it would make her feel a bit better.

He was nervous about going over to her house; he didn't know whether she would be in the mood or if she even wanted him to come at all. He was also nervous about her grandparents for some reason. But he had to see her, and if that meant he had to go through the nerves, then so be it.

He parked outside her house and grabbed the bag of stuff he had bought for her. He walked up nervously and knocked on the door.

It took a few moments, but the door eventually opened. Hazel had taken her time to go downstairs and open; her cramps were really not helping her. She was shocked to see Mason there, but also felt her heart warm with his presence.

As for Mason, he could see how tired Hazel looked by how she was cuddled up in a blanket. Her hair was messy, but she still looked beautiful in his eyes.

"Mase, what are you doing here?" she asked with a weak smile, fighting through those cramps and not wanting to embarrass herself by being groaning in pain.

"Well...you weren't feeling well, and I just finished training, so I thought I could come by and check if you're ok," he told her with a smile on his face.

"That's so nice of you; come in," she said as she made space for him to walk in.

"This is for you, by the way," he handed her the bag as he took his shoes off. She gently took the bag and looked inside, seeing all the things he had bought her.

"Aw, thank you, Mason, you really didn't have to do this," she looked at him, feeling very grateful.

The two pulled in for a hug before going over to the living room. "My grandparents went to Nottingham over the week; that's why it's so quiet here," she chuckled as the two sat down next to each other on the couch.

"Ah, I was wondering where they were," he chuckled.

"So...how was training?" Hazel asked as she leaned back on the couch. It made her feel better and she didn't feel too much pain from the cramps when sitting like that.

"Same as usual, we're preparing for the FA Cup final next week, so it's a busy week."

"Oh..yeah, I understand. Who are you playing against?" She asked curiously; she hasn't kept up with football in a while.

"Liverpool, we have to win; we didn't last time we were in the final, so hopefully it works out," Mason said.

"I'm sure it will," Hazel smiled at him, "I'm sorry again...about the date, I was really excited about it."

"Don't worry, we'll go another time," he assured her, "what was the plan anyway?" He asked curious.

"Not telling you still, you're gonna have to wait," she teased him.

"Now I'm really curious," he chuckled.

"Hopefully it's good; it would be embarrassing if I had planned all of it just for you to hate it," she laughed.

"Nah, don't say that; as long as I get to hang out with you, I know it's going to be good," he smiled at her, causing her to smile back at him.
