Part 52 Targeting Alex

Disconnecting the call, Shyam looked at Alex's bike from the place he was hiding. Alex started the bike and left the place. Shyam stood all smirking.

As expected, Alex got surrounded by the Vigilance and anti-corruption team. Alex frowned and could not understand anything. Not that he didn't know who were they. He knew they were Vigilance and Anti-corruption officers. But why were they surrounding him? What did he do?

"Inspector Alexander, we got an information that you got fifty thousand from Shyam Manohar Jha."

"Whaaaaat? but why should I get money from him?" He asked.

"Because you are the one who let him evade jail"

"This is not true"

"We will find it out at the end of the investigation."

Sub-inspector of vigilance came to him and checked his bike pouch. His face changed there was no money in the pouch.

"There is nothing, sir," he said looking at the inspector.

"Where would it go?" the inspector asked.

"Go?" Alex frowned.

"According to the information we got, it must be in your bike pouch"

"Oh..." Alex raised his brows.

"Inspector Alexander, where are you coming from now?"

"I just am coming from my home, getting fresh," Alex said.

"Taking him with us, we have to go to his house," the Inspector said to the team.

The Vigilance team came to Alex's house with Alex. Alex gave them his house key. Opening it, they came inside. It was a very small house with one bedroom. Alex was asked to sit in the corner of the living room. They started searching for his house. But they didn't find money in his house too.

A sub-inspector came and handed a printout to the inspector. it was Alex's phone's incoming and outgoing call history. there were no calls from any number, except for his station number and control room.

"Sorry, Mr. Alexander. Someone gave us wrong information it seems" the vigilance inspector extended his hand for a shake.

"That's ok sir... It's all usual in a police officer's life" Alex shook hands with him.

The vigilance team left his house.

Alex sat on the chair and thought about the raid. He had no doubt who could have done that. It must be Shyam. But why did he do the baseless complaint? Why did he give false information? Did he do that to lower his confidence level? He had no idea.

That was when he got a call on his mobile. He attended the call as the call was from his station.

"Yeah I am coming"

Disconnecting the call, he came out of the house with his bike key. He started the bike. He saw a girl coming from the next house.

"I would like to talk to you about something very important," she said.

Alex knew the girl had a crush on him. She always threw blushful looks at him.

"What do you want to talk to me?" he asked calmly.

"I said it's an important one"

"I am going to the station. I have no time to talk to you now" he started the bike.

"If I had not been here, you would have been in jail as of now"

Alex shrank his eyes.

"What did you say?"
