Bucky smiles at the text Bianca sent back. She was really drunk. Bucky says goodbye to his friends and heads back home. She thank his neighbor for watching his kids.
Bucky walked in Elijah's room, he was in his bed playing on his tablet.
"Hey bud"
"Hey dad"
"I'm ready for my goodnight hugs!" He holds his arms out. Bucky smiles and sits on his bed.
"You know I love you Eli"
He nods. "I do too dad"
Bucky kisses the top of his head.
"Hey dad?"
"Yeah?"
"Don't be mad, I went through your stuff"
He nods. "What did you find?"
Elijah goes to his bedside desk and grabs a picture.
"Who's her?"
Bucky looks at the picture and its him and Sharon. Bucky hasn't really told him about his mom. He just thinks theres no point. She left them.
"That's Sharon, your mom"
"Where is she?" He asks. Bucky sighs. "She left bud"
"Where?"
"I don't know"
"Why did she leave?"
Bucky takes the picture and places it on the side table. "Get some sleep bud"
He nods and gets under the covers. Bucky gets up and turns on his nightlight, taking the picture from the desk.
"Love you dad"
He smiles. "Love you too bud"
Bucky walks out his room, closing the door behind him.
"Why don't you just tell him the truth, mom left us"
Bucky sighs. "Your brother is too young to understand"
"I was young she left"
Bucky walks in his room. "Zach..its complicated right now"
"Everything is" he gets up from his desk and gets in bed. Bucky walks over to him and sits on his bed.
"She never loved us dad, why are you defending her?"
"I'm not, and she did love you" Bucky tells him.
Zachary scoffs. "She has a funny way of showing it.
"Listen, truthfully I will never understand fully why your mother left" Bucky says. "And I know it hurts"
"Tomorrows the mother son dance at school, and guess who doesn't have a mother to go with"
Bucky chews the his lip. "I'm sorry"
"I had to tell my friends had a plans that day which was why I couldn't go" Zachary tells Bucky. "Its embarrassing"
"Zach I know there's nothing I can say or do that can make you feel better, and I'm sorry" he says. "Sharon just wasn't ready for all this"
