Hiccup slowly opened his eyes. The sun had begun to rise which caused him to wake up.
He sat up and looked over at Elsa who was still sound asleep. He softly smiled.
He then turned to the window. It had began snowing and the ground was covered in a thin layer of snow. It happened much later than he expected it too, but he was pleased with himself that he was right.
While his mind wondered about the conversation they had last night at the dinner table, there was something stirring behind him.
He knew it was Elsa, but he didn't turn to look at her.
If he was being honest, he felt shame from their talk last night. He knew Elsa deserved to know about his past, but to him, it was weird saying those things outloud.
There's something about the morning after a deep conversation.
Elsa had stood up and walked over to him. When she sat in the couch, his eyes looked at her, but his head remained fixated on the window.
"Good morning." He said, still looking out of the window.
"Good morning." Elsa replied, rubbing her eyes. "Did you sleep well?"
"As well as I can." He replied. "I can sleep on the floor, the couch was a delight."
Elsa giggled.
"I definelty missed my bed." She said. "Now that I can actually enjoy it without fearing someone is going to walk in and hurt me."
"That's called freedom." Hiccup replied.
Elsa looked at him and smiled. She sat closer to him and rested her head in his shoulder, looking out of the window with him.
They sat it silence, looking at the sunrise together, just like they had promised each other a while ago.
"Thank you for opening up to me last night." She said, her head still resting on his shoulder.
"It means a lot to me that you're comfortable enough to tell me everything." She continued. "I can tell you feel shame in telling me, but I promise you, I still see you as the same."
Hiccup rubbed his hand up and down her arm.
"I do feel shame." He said. "But I'll let it dissipate after hearing your words." He rested his head on hers.
They once again sat in silence.
A few minutes later, the door slammed open and Anna's voice was heard.
"Rise and shine!" She said happily.
She noticed that as soon as she walked in, the two separated and turned to look at her.
"Sorry to interrupt, but we have a long day ahead of us." She said, walking over to Elsa's bed and begun making it.
"Hiccup, Kristoff is going to take you around Arendelle and introduce you to the townspeople. They know you're here, but they interested in knowing more about you." She said. "And Elsa, you and I are going to get things in the castle back in order."
Elsa let out a sigh, then turned to Hiccup.
"I guess I'm still the Queen." She said to him.
"As you are." Hiccup said.
"If we get it all done quick, we can continue where we left off yesterday." She said. "Right?"
Hiccup nodded. "Right."
He was disappointed that he couldn't stay with Elsa, but understood why he should get to know the townspeople. If he was staying there in the castle and possibly forever, they needed to know he was safe.
