Chapter 012 Recap; Giyuu started rehabilitation training, flying through all the warm ups. While jumping through the trees, dodging branches and whatever else he flew into one while not paying attention. Sitting against the tree for a bit regaining his breath. He walked the rest of the way, ending up at Shinobu's estate quite late. They sat down and had tea as Shinobu 'scolded' him for his carelessness. Eventually Giyuu left, a 'thank you' being heard before he disappeared.

The following day was one Giyuu had dreaded, seeing master for the first time since the incident. And in all honesty, Shinobu probably told him about it.

He subconsciously sighed to himself as he was nearing the estate, Shinobu lingering behind him to make sure he got there safely.
He then stood in front of the master's estate. The shade provided, decently cool.

He cringed at the sight of the estate, the thought of having to talk about his problems. Sounds awful, he thought. He heard the master's footsteps. Kneeling down on one knee, out of respect. Shinobu did the same.

“Hello, Children. Giyuu, would you please follow me inside?” The master asked, his tone as calming and flowing as ever. It reminded Giyuu of a calm stream under a tree. Providing shade and shelter for others. A place where they could rest, or feel safe.

He lifted his head, nodding in confirmation. He then got up, walking over to the entrance and stepping up. He felt a slightly cold hand rest on his shoulder, he jumped at the new feeling.
Being led on now by the master into the estate, the hand on his shoulder reassuring him it was okay.

He walked into a dimly lit room, taking a seat on a futon in the middle of a floor. On one of the opposite sides of a candle that was lit in the middle. Master took the other, sitting as elegantly as ever.

“So, what was bothering you this much my child..?” He asked, his usual reassuring smile had fallen. A frown of disappointment. No.. more of, remorse. On his face. It pained Giyuu to see him like that.. he hated that he was the cause of the master's distress.

He clenched his fists tight, his haori being balled up in his fists. He shut his eyes tight, sealing off any way for tears to fall. His eyes suddenly jolted open as he felt the same cold presence on his now white knuckles. Tears streamed down his face in panic.

“Oh you poor thing.. What's troubling you?” He asked, taking the ravenette's hands in his own. The cold yet somehow still refreshing touch surrounding his heated hands. He exhaled slowly, but Shakey.

“The guilt of those losses. They pain me to this day. I.. I'm not worthy of being a Hashira, master.” He says, his sentence being broken up by sobs.

“Oh Giyuu...” The master responded, his concern for the other written on his tone. He slowly reaches his arms out. Pulling the ravenette with the mismatched haori into a gentle embrace.

He sat there whispering calming and reassuring things into the sobbing ravenette's ears. Still hugging him tightly, making him know that he wasn't alone.

“I.. I watched him die in front of me... It replays every so often. It hurts.. if I was stronger I.. I could've saved him.” He choked through, his distress apparent. He gripped onto the older ones haori, hugging back with care yet a good grip on the person providing comfort to him.

He desperately held onto him like as if he didn't, he'd disappear too. He didn't want that. He cried into the shoulder of the older male, who listened contently.

Around an hour later Giyuu felt really tired, all the crying and distress of the situation exhausting him. He was still wrapped in the embrace of the master. His hands still cold after being with the other for an hour and a half. He knew it was almost time to leave. Shinobu had been waiting for the whole time.

The ravenette sighed, loosening his grip on the other. Now sitting on his knees a slight smile on his face. “I hope you feel better soon my child.. seeing you like this is painful.” He said, placing his hands in his lap.

“Yes master, my deepest apologies.” Giyuu replied, turning around and walking away slowly. His footsteps echoing through the almost empty estate.

He finally made his way out of estate, it was a few confusing corridors. He walked out his eyes red and puffy as he walked over a half-asleep Shinobu. “He just wanted to talk.” He said quietly, Shinobu jolted awake.

“A-ah! Alright, if your more comfortable staying at your estate you can. I understand the Butterfly mansion isn't the most comfortable.” She said, empathy in her voice. He nodded, turning around to start walking to his estate. He hadn't been there for a while.

He heard footsteps grow distant behind him. He was a bit confused why she was as heading the other way but he didn't question it. He just wanted to be in his house. After about a week and a half of being away he missed his bland yet comforting house.

He sighed, the footsteps now unnoticeable.

He neared his estate as he saw his pond in the middle of the grassy area in front of his estate. He walked off the pebbled path, his estate seemed untouched.

He opened the door to see and smell a horrific sight.
