I got out of bed and got ready for school. Today was just going to be another boring repeat of yesterday, I sighed to myself.

While I was walking to my class I thought I had seen a boy staring at me just before I caught him with my eyes. Weird, I thought.

I sat down and took out my notebook to get ready for class. The teacher announced, "We're going to have a new student today. Everyone please welcome Quinn to our class."

The same boy that I was sure was looking at me in the hall stepped into the class. I couldn't help but keep my eyes on him as he walked to the front and stood besides the teacher.

"Go ahead and introduce yourself honey," said the teacher. The boy nodded and said, "Hi guys I'm Quinn." He took a brief look around the class, examining everyone and everything.

His eyes met mine after a minute and I quickly looked away to pretend that I wasn't staring. I could see him smile at me from the corner of my eye. A faint blush covered my face as I continued to stare out the window, trying to ignore his gaze.

Then the teacher broke the silence, "There's an empty seat next to Leo, why don't you go and get situated there. After class he can give you a tour around school, right Leo?"

I was distracted by the leaves blowing in the wind. "Leo?" the teacher asked louder. Snapping back to the present I responded, "Oh uh- yes ma'am I will."

The boy walked up to my desk and sat besides me. "Hey I'm Leo," I said in attempts to befriend him. Smiling, he replied, "Hey cutie~" Being caught off guard, I got flustered- "I'm just messing with you man," he said, laughing. "R-right, yeah," I said, looking away again so that he wouldn't see my flustered face.

The teacher ignored his laugh and started class. 20 minutes passed. I was starting to get bored and laid my head down on the desk, naturally turning my head to the right so that the sun wouldn't be in my eyes from where the window was on the left side of me.

Usually my eyes would then meet the dusty floor with old gum stuck to it but forgetting that the new kid was sitting next to me, this time my eyes saw his. He smiled at me and turned his head back to listen to the teacher's lecture. I kinda wanted him to look at me for just a little bit longer. Surprised at my own thought I shut my eyes and went into a nap.
