"Hey wake up, class ended 3 minutes ago." I opened my eyes and rubbed them, taking a second to remember where I was.I saw the empty class and then my eyes landed on him, again. "H-hey," I said, still tired from barely getting any sleep in from the night before.
He took a good look at me before he told me to pack my things up. I noticed but was too tired to care and did as he said. Before I could stand with my backpack, the new boy grabbed me by my wrist and dragged me out of the class.
"What the hell man?!" I said while picking up my papers that fell out of my backpack. "Have you forgotten?" He asked, dropping his eyebrows and frowning at me. In an annoyed tone I asked, "What?" "The teacher told you to give me a tour of the school," He reminded me.
That's right. My next class was in 15 minutes so I had some time to spare. "Oh yea- just follow me and I'll tell you everything you need to know about this place" A smile found itself on his face again and he happily followed.
[10 minutes later]
"The room on the left is choir and on the right is the band room, any questions?" I finished, looking at my watch to see if I was late to class. "Thanks man, now I know where every class is but there is a slight problem though," He replied.
I retraced my memory to think of what I could've missed about this small campus. "What's the matter?" I asked, sure of that I included where all the classes were in my tour. "You haven't told me where the restrooms are yet," He chuckled.
"Oh yeah- there's one next to the gym, one next to the cafeteria, one in the front hall and one in the west courtyard," I informed him. "Any other questions?"
He stood before me and thought hard for a second. "Yeah, can we hang out after school at the library? I still need to get new books." "Oh yea sure, I'll be going there anyways to do my homework," I replied.
[After school at the library]
"Ugh," I sighed. "The teachers always assign so much homework, it's so stupid." A hand was placed on my shoulder from behind. "What-" "Sorry did I keep you waiting long?" I turned around and saw Quinn standing there, his hair was messy and he had a rip down the middle of his uniform pants.
"What happened to you?" I asked, concerned. Just this morning he was so nicely fit so what could've happened to him for him to be here all roughed up? "Oh some boys in the hall saw I was new and decided to go bananas on me... I'm fine though, really" Quinn said while faking a smile.
He stood fixing his soft, brown hair and sat down across from me. "Hey you sure? What'd the boys look like? I think I might know, I can get them to stop." I reached out and fixed a loose strand of hair behind his ear. "Oh- n-no it's ok, I'm fine, really" he quickly replied, turning away to reach for his backpack.
"You need to get new books right? Our librarian is super cool, just go ask her about what kind of books you want to read and she'll show you the best collections that the school has," I said, pointing to a lady arranging returned books behind the counter. "Oh ok, thanks," he said, turning to see the librarian that was waving at us.
"You're new here right? Come over here and I'll show you the best books this school has got to offer!" She said with a cheerful voice. Quinn got up and started to walk towards her direction, but only to stop midway and turn back to meet my gaze. I raised an eyebrow at him and he gave me one of his sunny smiles and turned back around.
Damn. His smile really makes my heart flutter. Wait no- I can't catch feelings for him. He's still new to the school and doesn't even know who I am. He's probably straight too. This morning was probably just him joking around to break the tension. Yeah. I best forget it and just do my homework before I get my heart in a mess again.
