Ribbon was in the kitchen, trying to whip up some cookies. "Put the flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl, then mix. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar with a hand mixer until pale and fluffy. Add vanilla, milk, and egg, then beat until combined. Then add flour mixture and mix until fully combined." She was in no way a good baker, so this was a bit challenging for her. "The tutorial makes it look so easy," she thought to herself. While Ribbon was making the cookie dough, Rose came downstairs and saw the action. "Need a little help there? I can tell you're having some trouble," she offered. That's when Ribbon began to panic. This was meant to be a surprise for Rose, but this would ruin it. But she also really needed help with the cookies. "Alright," she replied.
As they were baking together, Rose was wondering why Ribbon was randomly making cookies. She wasn't into baking, so this was a bit unusual. "So, Ribbon," she began to ask. "What are these cookies for, anyway?" In her head, Ribbon was panicking even more, her arms shaking. Her only options were to either lie and not get away with it at all, or to just confess to her right then and there.
"I... um..." Her mind was racing. "I'm helping a friend with their Valentine's Day party!" "People don't throw parties for Valentine's Day, Ribbon." "...Or do they?" "They don't. Anyway, I can tell you're lying. Just tell me the truth, it can't be anything bad!"
At that point, there was no escaping it. Ribbon had to confess to Rose about what was really going on. "Rose..." she began. "I have something important to tell you." Rose tilted her head slightly. (If that's even possible for objects.) "Will you be my girlfriend?" She was taken aback and stepped back for a moment, before returning to reality and saying "Of course I will!" They finished baking the cookies, then headed to Ribbon's room. Rose went over to Vinyl's room and called her in as well. (Candy was already there since she shared a room with Ribbon, so no need to get her.) "We have cookies! As well as a bit of big news." After they enjoyed the heart-shaped cookies, Rose and Ribbon made the announcement. "So, we've decided that..." "It's official! We're dating." Vinyl clapped, and Candy had a grin on her face. (It was unclear whether that was from the news or the food.) Vinyl said, "I always knew you guys were close, but I wasn't expecting this. Congrats!" Candy also chimed in. "That's very cool of you two!"
Vinyl left the room, then Rose and Ribbon went to the former's room. "I'm glad you feel the same way I do, Rose." "Ribbon, I always felt like we were meant to be something more. Now that it's official, what do you want to do?" "I really have no idea. Maybe a movie date?" "Yeah, that could work."
