"He is weak, but still alive, my lord." Narcissa confirmed and Voldemort nodded with a smile.

'That was good. Wait, WHAT?
No that was not good at all! He was meant to kill the bloody boy!

Lucius now stepped up beside him and looked at him questioningly.
"Tom, what are you doing?" he murmured unobtrusively.

The Dark Lord was silent before he turned around briskly and called out;

"Take the boy to the Manor! I'll deal with him later. Severus, my friend, will you please take over?"

"Of course my lord." The Potions Master bowed and took the student in his arms.

Moments later he was apperated and Tom sighed.
"Kill as many as you can and take care of yourselves."

After a general
"Yes MyLord," those who remained made their way to Hogwarts.

"Lucius, you don't."

The addressed nodded and followed his friend of many years into his Manor.
In the grand entrance hall, Severus was waiting for them, who immediately reported.

"Potter is fine so far. He's asleep now."
For a few seconds they looked into each other's eyes.
"I've put him in a guest room. Tom, what's wrong? You're acting strange."

Voldemort snorted. Surely he didn't know himself!
"I think the boy is my other half."

Immediately the other two looked at him with wide eyes. They knew what this meant, and all because of one bloody bite!

Because Tom didn't always look like a snake's paw. No, Merlin even had a normal nose!

But somehow bad luck followed him to the smallest step and so it happened that he was bitten by an unknown snake species at the age of 28.

As he had found out, there were only a few who had met the same fate, and so he had those affected brought to him.

He learned everything useful from them. He also found out that he had been assigned a kind of companion.
And now he had most likely found him.

He himself had not aged and could only switch back and forth between his two figures to a limited extent.
A circumstance that was extremely annoying, but at the same time useful.

"Do you really think it's him?!" asked Lucius, snapping the lord out of his thoughts. Then, slowly, he nodded.

"Yes, my friend, I do. Incredible as it may sound, it is truly him."
Slightly, he smiled. After so long, he had finally found him. His companion.

Severus grinned to himself. You could see exactly how happy the Dark Lord was.
Yes, he was feared, and rightly so, but the Death Eaters who were close to him saw the human in him.

The person who had feelings. Feelings far removed from hate and anger. Feelings for another human being. Love.

Harry blinked. Everything hurt, but apparently Voldemort hadn't killed him yet. But he was no longer at Hogwarts either.

He sat up sleepily and froze. The room he was in was brightly decorated.

Cream-coloured furniture, a light brown fireplace and a matching carpet dressed the room. Not to mention the light-coloured walls and his soft bed.

And in the middle of this room, sat him. Voldemort. Tom Riddle.
Quietly, he looked at him out of his, well, hazel eyes.

A long robe covered his well-trained body and his long legs were tucked into black suit trousers. The man was a feast for the eyes.

Smiling, Tom watched his counterpart's steady change of countenance.

"Good morning, Harry. I hope you had a restful sleep."

Confused, the younger man blinked but nodded.
"Y-yes, thank you." Shyly, he played with the corner of the duvet.

"What happens to me now?"
Tom smiled. "You'll stay here for now, my little companion."

Harry stumbled. Companion?
Another laugh rang out.
"Yes Harry, you are a companion. My other half, if you like. I want to apologise to you. For the many times I've tried to kill you. For the pain I've caused."

A comfortable silence fell before Harry climbed out of bed, walked up to Tom and gently stroked his cheek.

"Actually, I should resist, but I've been running for too long. If you want, we can negotiate a peace contract and I will stay with you. I want to get to know you better and maybe something will develop."

Tom beamed, Harry smiled and Severus burst into the room.

Sometimes life had unexpected surprises in store.
