Today we meet one of my favourite ghosts I made!
sorry I didn't post yesterday! I didn't know what to put here :')———————————————————
It been a few days since OJ's encounter with the infamous poltergeist, and it's left him shaken to the core. Knowing that it wasn't only him that experienced some sort of hallucination on level 2 specifically has made him almost refuse to go there for the nightly check.
His legs trembled as he walked up the stair case. his mind racing as he drew closer to the door, fearing what lay ahead in the forever darkness that surrounded him; that all too familiar shiver crawling up his spine as he took the first few steps into the hallways, checking the first room...
...
All good
Then the second room
...
All good aswell.
OJ didn't know what he was expecting. After his own experience (and hearing papers) he couldn't even think of level 2 without thinking of that endles void he was trapped in. This all felt too calm... too... repetitive
He felt like every door he went and opened was the same one, the same wood texture, the same shiny metal plate with the room number displayed on it. He was going mad in his own hotel and he knew it, he knew who... or should I say what was causing it. Mabye he could banish them? Mabye invite a priest over to cleanse the hotel; he wasn't exactly religious but he didn't want the chance of other guests getting scared of the place they reside.
' ok... final room...' OJ said to himself, rubbing his cold face with his equally chilly hands.
When he looked at the door, it was slightly ajar, just like how he leaves them as an reminder he's checked that room. Come to think of it, several random rooms had the door slightly ajar. Did the season 1/season 2 contestants not know how to shut their doors properly? But that can't be right! Everyone always makes sure their doors are closed!
Has someone been doing some rooms for him? Or did he just check the rooms in a random order?
His mind was puzzled, he couldn't remember if he had checked the rooms randomly or in order (like he normally did).
Suddenly he heard humming
But not a tune he was familiar with. He knew the contestants that would always hum a little song, those being: lightbulb when she's doing somthing, test-tube when their bored and need somthing to do and himself when he's just walking around. All three of them had their distinguished small song they would sing like mentioned before. This one seemed to be of an older song? OJ recognised it after a few seconds of listening to the out of reality humming, it was: I was dreaming by kettle Juncker ((real person who made the song: August Juncker))
It was a song from around 1890, he remembered his mother teaching him about good old-fashioned tunes his grandmother used to play on a vinyl record.
But now he just had to figure out where this damned humming was coming from, so with that he followed the sound. He turned corners, up stairs and found himself in the attic, this is where the humming was loudest.
But to his surprise, there was no one there, he searched behind spare lightbulbs, test-tubes random junk they need to be stored, trophy's spare exercise equipment, some random stuff salt and pepper refuse to throw out and a random sewing kit knife owns.
But still, no person could be found, untill he saw 1 pair of gleaming white eyes, exactly like what paper described that one ghost he encountered. But this also looked nothing like how the object was described. It was almost impossible to make out the figures form but it was frightfully tall, taller then paintbrush even. Their head looks like a sort of amalgamation of pink and yellow, which OJ could just barely figure out to be a flower along with a dark pinkest stick body before the humming stopped and that faint blur of OJ's mind faded with the humming.
Ok. This is too much. Without any further thought OJ exited the attic and went to his private suite on level 1. Luckily, every since the incident with the poltergeist he double checks he has everything every 2 seconds.
He walks down the down stairs, the eerie echo of his feet hitting each step being the only sound other then the never-ending hum in his head. The tune that was being sung... he couldn't get it out of his head, it was almost like it was a dent engraved in ancient stone.
—————————
He eventually made it to his suite, he opened the door slowly, the first few steps into the room being slow as the feeling of comfort filled his body, shaking off the ghostly grim feeling on his back.
That when he noticed a letter neatly folded perfectly in an envelope with a candle wax seal, it was labelled with Impossiblely neat and surprisingly legible cursive that spelled: To: OJ
At first he though it was a complaint from one of the residents but no resident would be this formal, most of them were just chill-outs that would hardly pay their rent untill they were threatened with eviction. God he hated them. But he also really didnt, they just got on his nerves.
Anyway, he opened the letter, pulling out a old looking letter, it looked like something pulled out of a sealed bottle in a pirate movie.
The letter wrote:
' To Oj:
It is a delight to know you and the other residents residing here at your
hotel have been able to withstand the unthoughtfull and rowdy poltergeist.I personally want to give you a truthful thanks for not doing anything too
drastic like cleansing the hotel, cuz that would not only rid them but all
the other innocent souls that reside here.So once again, I greatly thank you
- sincerely, Jane Doe '
' Jane... Doe? ' OJ asked himself, he was confused. A letter from an actual ghost!?
Very quickly, OJ decided it was too much for him today, he hopped in his bed and quickly went to sleep
