(Y/N) and Jack pushed their way through the crowd of people to get to the stern. The lights started to flicker as the power started to give out. The crew responsible for it did everything to keep the power on but it was becoming impossible. As the couple made their way to the top of the ship, they could hear a paster spitting out prayers to ensure everyone's safety. In the grand staircase, the glass dome above everyone shattered from the pressure of the water, flooding the entire staircase and drowning everyone inside.
Water rushed through the cabins, throwing doors off their hinges and forcing furniture out the doors. The propellers of the Titanic were finally beginning to show for the first time since its construction. Everyone in boats or in the water started to swim away from the stern as it began to rise out of the water. With it quickly pulling upwards, it became harder to walk up to the railing. People had started to jump into the water to try and escape their fate of being pulled down by the ship.
(Y/N) and Jack struggled to get to the railing with someone they had met, the ship's head chef, who had helped (Y/N) up when she fell at one point. When (Y/N) and Jack finally made it to the railing, the aft end of the ship had come out of the water. Jack held onto the railing while (Y/N) tried her best to hang onto him. People desperately held onto the railing or anything they could get their hands on as the priest continued to prey to those kneeling before him. (Y/N) turned to Jack, telling him that they were at the exact spot they had first met each other.
Jack said nothing to her and kissed her forehead before holding her close to him. Inside, a woman in a flowing, white dress floated in the water, dead after inhaling the water when it flooded in. Plates and wine smashed onto the floor as the tilting became worse. People started to slide down the deck, unable to stand anymore. They bumped into things as they slid into the water below. Some breaking bones or losing their lives. No one and nothing was safe from the tilting.
It got so bad that anyone near the railing started to climb over it. The first man to do it slipped and fell into the water, dying from the height and the impact. The cook was the next to climb over, being careful to not fall too. Another man tried to climb over but fell, hitting his legs on the propeller and spinning into the water. The cook reached into his pocket and took out a flask, drinking the alcohol inside. (Y/N) and Jack tried to hold onto the railing as the ship continued to tilt.
Out on the water, (M/N) stared at what was left of the ship sticking out of the water, feeling guilty for what she said earlier that night. She thought that what (Y/N) said was just her overreacting and that all this was a practice. But it was worse than that. Much worse. Even Mr. Ismay couldn't watch the scene any longer, feeling responsible for this accident. If he hadn't pushed the Captain to go faster, maybe they wouldn't have hit the iceberg. Yes, now he had something to report to the papers but none of this was worth it.
Inside the ship, crewmembers tried desperately to keep the lights on but everything was now sparking at them. When they switched a lever to keep the lights turned on, the electricity shocked him and made the whole ship go dark. Everyone was left in darkness with nothing but screaming and the groaning of the Titanic. Then everyone heard a loud snap. One of the boards had come up. And then more followed. Lovejoy, who was still on the ship, was right next to the snapping boards, and soon the railing which snapped next to him.
The whole ship started to snap in half, unable to take the weight of what was in the water and how heavy the aft was. Some fell down the now huge hole as the stern started to fall down rapidly, crushing everyone who had fallen underneath where the ship fell back into the water. The last of the funnels fell as the bow started to pull the stern back up, trying to take it down. (Y/N) and Jack climbed over the rail with the cook while everyone who wasn't holding on fell into the rest of the ship or the water below.
The stern was quick to go back to its upright position as everyone started to fall. Those who couldn't hold on any longer also started to fall. The stern made it to full height, leaving people dangling or falling into the freezing water below. People around them were screaming and begging for help but no one could. The people who fell from the very top of the ship took others with them as they fell while possibly breaking a few bones or losing their lives. The stern then started to sink, pushing out all the air left inside and spraying out water as it went down.
As the water came closer to Jack and (Y/N), Jack told her that the ship was going to suck them down and to hold her breath when he gave the word. And to keep kicking to get to the surface and not let go of his hand. (Y/N) trusted him on this. As the air burst out of any holes in the ship, taking passengers down with her, Jack told (Y/N) to get ready to hold her breath. Just as they were about to go under, Jack told (Y/N) to hold her breath and stood them both up as they went under.
Just as told, the two started to kick for the surface as the ship tried to pull them down. But as the last of the air in the ship gave way, and the Titanic started to speed to the bottom like a bullet, the suction made Jack lose his grip and he was sucked down, leaving (Y/N) alone. He tried swimming up to her and (Y/N) tried to grab him but he was long gone so she swam to the surface where all chaos ensued with people screaming for help and trying to find anyone or anything to use to keep afloat. All the while (Y/N) was in the middle of it, trying to call out to Jack if he made it back to the surface too.
