Lord Alazar, there is a man from Meyaka who claims to have urgent news for you. Would you like me to let him in or kill him, my lord?” Alazar’s second-in-command Axoul asked
“Axoul, allow him to enter. If he wastes my time you may do as you please with him.” Alazar replied
“Yes, my lord. Right away my lord.” Axoul said as he ordered two soldiers to retrieve the man.
“Lord Ala-” Dayion Zekeda attempted to say before he was interrupted.
“You do not speak to my lord until he permits you to speak. If you talk out of turn again I'll have your tongue removed and castrate you.” Axoul snarled
“Speak now. And do tell me everything at once. It better be worth my time.” Alazar said.
“Lord Alazar, my name is Dayion Zekeda. I am the brother of the false king of Meyaka, Nevin Zekeda. I overheard three of his elder council members talking about declaring war on you. When I tried to confront them they attacked me, giving me no choice but to kill them. When I told my brother of their plans, instead of honoring me, he exiled me from Meyaka.” Dayion’s face twisted to a sly grin, “From my understanding, Meyaka was an ally to your grace, not an enemy. They're trying to connect with Spirit animals, so that they may have enough power to rival you. If left alone, in a year their forces will be strong enough to fight against yours. Lord Alazar, the people of Meyaka no longer fear you. They believe that my nephews are the bridge that will connect them back to the spirits”
“Bring Dayion food, drink, and the best bed slave in the land. Axoul! send Deval and his men to kill every Meyakan over the age of sixteen. enslave the rest.” Alazar’s voice snapped as he waves his devouts away.
“Yes, my Lord. Shouldn’t we just kill them all since-” Axoul tried to ask?
“You dare question me brother,” Alazar shouts.
“I apologize, my lord. I do not mean to question you. More so trying to understand your great wisdom.” Axoul explained.
“Anyone under the age of sixteen poses no threat to me for they cannot commune with spirits. As slaves, once they do gain the ability to commune, I will offer them a place in my military making me the true controller of their power.” Alazar laughs.
“My lord, you are truly wise. Would you like me to show Dayion, to his room?” Axoul asked.
“I’ll allow it” Alazar replied
“My lord, can you bless me with work while I'm here? Maybe something permanent if you will have me.” Dayion said with his head bowed.
Axoul raised his hand in an attempt to strike Dayion, but before he could hit him Alazar gestured for him to wait.
“For giving me such pertinent information, how would you like to take over the slave trades? You would be in charge of selling all captured slaves. From there I will allow you to keep a third of all profit.” Alazar said.
“It would be an honor to my liege. I am forever humbled by your generosity” Dayion said.
“This moron has no clue what he's getting himself into. He will take out my brother for me while I turn slaves into watchful eyes all over the world. You may be powerful Alazar but I'm smarter than you will ever be.'' Dayion thought to himself as he followed Axoul to his new room.
SMACK!! Dayion’s head bounced off the wall. His vision began to blur as several men beat on him. One man was holding Dayion’s hair while slamming his elbow into Dayion’s eye. Another man punched and kicked him until he crumbled to the ground. Dayion crawled into the fetal position in an attempt to protect himself but the beating continued. He felt a man stomping on his ribs while another kicked him in his testicles. One man even went as far as pissing on his head. Dayion let his fury swell inside of him, climbed to his feet, and punched the man, pissing on him with every ounce of his strength. The blow hit the man's temple, killing him on the spot.
“Stop attacking him,” Axoul ordered. Every man stopped instantly and backed away.
“This beating I gave you. I want you to remember it forever. I want you to know that I alone own you and I will kill you if you ever cross me.” Axoul announced as he pushed Dayion through a doorway into his new room.
“Axoul I promise I’ll never forget this nice little talk we had,” Dayion replied as he slowly closed the door to his room.
Dayion’s eyes were already swelling to a close. his body aches all over and he was pretty sure that several of his ribs were broken. He began coughing up blood as he fell onto the floor of his room. Everything spun in circles until he finally lost consciousness.
“Deval, Lord Alazar has demanded you take your men and kill every person over sixteen in Meyaka. Those under sixteen are allowed to be killed but can also be captured as slaves. I advise you to capture a few for your arena. I hear the people of Meyaka are wonderful fighters” Axoul said
“Not a problem brother. In the will of Chaos I won't fail you” Deval said
“In the Will of Chaos,” Axoul, replied.
Axoul turned away from his brother and headed back to Alazars side. Deval sent out an order for his soldiers. Within an hour about ten thousand soldiers stood rank and file in front of him. Gazes fixed on him,  As he began to speak.
“It has been brought to my attention that Lord Alazar would like us to take care of a problem. That problem is Meyaka. You will head there in seven days. From the information passed to me This will not be an easy battle if we try to attack head-on. You will attack in the hours before sun up. You will Kill anyone over sixteen. Do what you will with the rest. Your journey will be long and some of you may not return. For the next seven days rest because you may not get that chance again for a while. May the Will of Chaos guide you to victory” Deval said.
“ All hail Lord Alazar. Praise be to the Will of Chaos” the soldiers chanted. Then in unison, they saluted their general, broke rank, and left.
The night fell on Premon as Dayion gained consciousness. He had betrayed his family, killed his elders, and now he felt as if he was on the verge of dying. His mind raced with thoughts of how to kill Axoul but he knew that he didn’t stand a chance in a fight with the man.
“I’m worried about fighting these people here. What is wrong with me? I'm not a fighter, I'm an intellectual monster. I am a serpent in a field of mice. I have always been leagues smarter than everyone I have ever known. Axoul you will rue the day you crossed me” Dayion thought to himself. He clawed his way into bed. As he lay there thinking a vile smile emerged ear to ear on his face. Revenge would come soon enough.
“When are we going to get rid of Alazar?” Deval whispered.
“I need him to let his guard down brother. This invasion of Meyaka may just be the thing we need.” Axoul replied
“ We are the Chaos brothers yet we bow to Alazar instead of ruling together as equals. He isn’t a better fighter than you brother and his magic doesn’t work on you so why wait?” Deval spat.
“ We wait because I cannot use magic. Yes, I may be immune to it but people fear magic. Alazar’s use of magic keeps people in check” Axoul explained.
“I can use magic though brother, and he is a fool. If not for you guiding his every decision, he would have already lost our kingdom and all of the nations we have conquered as well.” Deval said
“As true as that may be his power is unmatched. He has connected with a dark spirit that just keeps making him stronger. There is no one who can contest him because he kills anyone who may pose a threat. Wait I have an idea” Axoul said
“What is it?” Deval asked.
“Dayion is angry that he isn’t king and let it be known that he has two Nephews. According to Dayion, The Meyakin are trying to connect to spirits, meaning their magic can become boundless like Alazar’s. Alazar has forbidden that type of magic use everywhere, with the exception of his closest allies. We will make sure Dayion’s Nephews live. I own Dayion so I’ll make sure he gets the boys as slaves. Will feed into their thirst for revenge until one of them is strong enough to defeat Alazar. The world will think of him as a savior. Once they have hope, I'll kill their hero and no one will have the will to stand against us” Axoul explained.
“Brother you are a true genius. I’ll have them fight in my arena. Slowly turning them into revenge-driven men. They will be so blood lusted by the time they get out, Alazar will be the only thing that they think about. “ Deval laughed.
“Yes, forcing them to fight in your arena is smart but we need more. We need to make their parents examples of how vile our brother thinks he is. Give a few of your closest soldiers the order and make sure they tell no one of this plan” Axoul whispered in his brother's ear.
The morning came early in Alazar’s Castle. Deval and Axoul stood next to their king as Dayion entered the room. Axoul glared at Dayion as if commanding him to stay silent. Dayion ignored this gesture and knelt at Alazar’s feet.
“My liege,” Dayion said
“I see you have found out what happens to those who think of crossing me,” Alazar said with a smug tone.
“My Liege I would never cross you. Axoul made sure that I knew my place. The hint was well received.” Dayion replied while trying to hide his hatred for Axoul.
“ You will be dismissed from my castle today. You have a house waiting in Premon, that has your orders and how much you will pay to me for each slave you sell. You will also pay me for the house and everything in it. If over time you prove undying loyalty to me then I will bless you with power people only dream of. If you do not prove loyalty to me this will happen. “ Alazar said as two guards dragged a man into the room. Alazar’s eyes turned from brown to vermillion as he pointed a finger at the man laying in front of him.
“fthorá san tous nekroús”Alazar chanted.
The man’s fingers began decaying. He screeched in agony, then his hands began decaying as well. Tears poured out of the man's eyes as he begged for death, but then his arms started to decay. The decaying stopped at his shoulders and began again at his feet. The man didn’t scream anymore though. He had lost the ability to make a sound. Tears silently streamed down his face. This continued until all that remained of the man was a pile of ash. Dayion envied Alazar’s power but to seem scared he pushed his tongue hard into the back of his throat causing himself to gag. The gagging turned to vomit and apologies.
“Clean up this mess and send Dayion to his home. His Loyalty will not waiver. This I am sure of” Alazar boasted.
Dayion kept up his act as joy welled up inside of him. He had fooled the most powerful man in the world into believing he was loyal and afraid of him. Everything was going according to his plans. He was in charge of slaves which meant he had spies everywhere. He had the trust of Alazar and his brother would be dead within a year. All he wanted to do now though was kill Axoul. After that, he would worry about becoming the supreme ruler.
