You follow the scream. Panic written all over your face as your speed increases. Your eyes wide as your teeth is clenched. Everything was going in slow motion as you got to the building. Only a few zombies were around so you jumped through a window that was already smashed.
'Please be okay, please, fuck sake! I'll do anything, Sakae please!'
Your eyes dart around the entire place. Your breath heavy as you push any zombie that attempted to bite you. The screaming stopped a few seconds ago making your heart rate increase. You hear someone killing the zombies and you spin on your heel...only to be met with Su-hyeok
"Y/n, we can't stay for long." Su-hyeok warns as you let out a shaky breath turning away from him
"I'm not leaving her." You state firmly as you continue to look. Su-hyeok helps by the going an opposite way. You find an empty room and walk into it. You hear shuffling behind you and you turn around to hear quiet sobbing
"Sakae?" You question softly pulling boxes off the small shaking figure. Your eyes widen seeing your little sister. Tears stream down your face as a smile appears. You pull her into a tight hug as you sit on the floor.
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" She cries into your neck as you stroke her hair. Your hand travels down to the back of her neck stopping when you felt something sticky on it. You put your head on her shoulder so you could see her neck and you freeze seeing a crimson liquid surround teeth marks in her nape. You pull back a bit to stare at Sakae's sobbing figure
"No...you're...but...I..." You stammer staring at her. She sobbed louder as she pushed you back
"I'm gonna turn into one of them, aren't I? That's how this stupid thing works right." She forces a laugh as tears streamed down hers and yours face. You couldn't speak. It was silent for a while before you shake your head
"No...you're not. I-I-I promised I would...you're gonna be okay. Okay? I-I...I can fix this. Just...we need...No!" You cry out trying to move closer to Sakae as she backs away more
"I've never seen you like this...I don't want to see you like this. I like seeing you happy...i'm sorry." She mumbles looking down.
"Please...Sakae. I can...I can help you, i'll...I don't...I can't lose you. I'm supposed to protect you, bring you back like I promised Kai. It's my job to protect you. It's why i'm here." You stutter looking away from Sakae. Your breath caught in your throat. Your head shoots up hearing a snap.
"Please don't let me turn into those monsters." Sakae cries as the cracking becomes more frequent
"What? You expect me to kill you!? No! I-I can't" You refuse as Sakae's nose bleeds and she falls to the floor crying out in agonising pain
"Please!" She begs loudly as you stand up
"I can't kill my sister, out of all people. Please don't make me." You cry looking down at her figure
"Y/n...stay alive." She whispers as everything falls silent apart from your quiet sobs. Something in you breaks. Your hope...gone. The only emotion right now is vexation
"Fuck sake." You grunt out grabbing a metal pole from the broken down building and slamming it down into Sakae's neck showing no mercy just pure anger. Her body stops twitching. Your eyes go dull showing no sparkle in them what so ever the only shine in them is from your perpetual tears.
You take one last look at your younger sisters lifeless body before walking out the room. You notice Su-hyeok killing a zombie and he darts his head up hearing your footsteps. He smiles but it instantly fades seeing your broken expression. He jogs up to trying to keep up with your fast pace as you both exit the building. Su-hyeok instantly knows what happened to your sister but is unaware that it was you who had to put her out.
"Y/n..." He trails off unsure of the words he should use for comfort.
"Sorry for making everyone wait." You mutter quietly as you all got back to the group
"Where's Sakae?" On-jo asks. You freeze at the name and avoid eye contact. Everyone falls silent as they stare at you as if they're trying to comfort you with there eyes
"We should go." You state ignoring the question. They nod and all of you start running down the small street. Su-hyeok grabbed your hand squeezing it every so often as your jaw was clenched. You were having mixed emotions between anger and sadness.
"Wait a sec." Su-hyeok stops making you stop
"What?" On-jo questions
"Nam-ra's gone. I'll be right back." He says as he runs off letting you go. You look around the foggy area trying to find her but no sign
"Su-hyeok!" On-jo yells
"Hey, Su-hyeok!" Dae-su calls out. You also run away trying to find Nam-ra. You manage to catch up with Su-hyeok and On-jo. Walking through a foggy area with zombies littering the place. You all stop seeing Nam-ra hold a zombie up and eating straight through the zombies stomach. This made your stomach turn from the vile sight of hearing the rips and tears of flesh, but your mind was completely blank after the last encounter with your sister.
"Hey, Nam-ra. Why are you all by yourself? Let's go." On-jo calls out making Nam-ra drop the body. She keeps her back turned as you push past On-jo getting more impatient. It's like all your emotions have mixed into anger making you lose your temper easily
"Stay back." Nam-ra warns
"Come on. Come with us. Mm?" On-jo tries again as you stepped closer
"I said stay back!" Nam-ra screams running towards you and pushing you to the ground. You hold her shoulders trying to push her off you. The only reason you're even trying to keep her away from you is because Sakae told you to stay alive. It's the least you could do after failing to protect her...you failed her...YOU FAILED HER! ITS YOUR FAULT!
Anger built up in your body as you moved one of your arms off her shoulder and punched Nam-ra's jaw causing her to roll off you. You stood up as well as Nam-ra. Su-hyeok took a second after seeing you lash out on someone you would normal defend and protect. He ran to Nam-ra holding her shoulders and keeping her back as you ball your fists and clench your jaw.
"I can't fail anyone else, Nam-ra." You state coldly. Your eyes holding no remorse as On-jo grabs your arm to stop you from swinging again.
Nam-ra thrashes around in Su-hyeok's grip until he lets go. She takes one glance at you before holding the hooded-jacket you gave her tightly. She then walks off with a pace as Su-hyeok runs to you holding your shoulders. You could only stare as Nam-ra walking off. Su-hyeok looks to see Nam-ra no where in sight. He grabs your hand and all 3 of you continue to run shouting 'Nam-ra' trying to find her but to no avail. She was gone.
