Yn Solace was 15 when she was introduced to Harry Potter ( of course, she watched him in the tv not in person). Solace always wanted to escape her reality. Mostly because of her parents that treated her so badly. She never wanted to be the child of the solace family, she wanted a family from a alternate universe. As you may tell, this is where it gets interesting. She decided to shift. There was many possibilities of there being an accident, but Solace didn't care. All she wanted was Harry. So she did it, she traveled realities.
