Chapter 2: The Date

Elenas POV

I got home from school and started getting ready when all of a sudden I heard someone stumble in to my house in the front door way. So I went down stairs with my phone about to call the cops , when I saw that is was just a drunk Jeremy. Of course he had to come home drunk almost every other night but it was Friday night so there must have been kids out partying already. I said, " jeez Jeremy y did u do that u scared the shit out of me " and Jeremy said slurring his words, " I'm going to bed , don't talk to me". So I said , " alrighty then night " . So I went back up to my room and finished applying my mascara and slipped on my heel and headed for the bathroom to have one last look before I headed out the door. Ding... Dong ... That's the doorbell , it must be Matt. So I hurried down the straits and opened the door and he said, " wow you look beautiful , ready to go on our date then". And I said , " yup lets go." So we drove for about 20 mins. Before we reached the grill and we got out and went inside and say at a booth , Matt worked at the grill so we got a special discount on our meal. And then it got really silent and awkward so I said , " Hey Matt can I talk to you about something ?" And he said ," sure ". So I said, " okay well you know the new guy , well Matt I'm sorry to say this but I don't feel the same as I did with you last year , I just don't feel fireworks anymore I just feel we be better off a friends sorry I just like someone else , we can still be friends?" And he said , " Elena we can be friends but I'll never give up on you, you are my first love and I will love you forever and always ❤️ you are the best thing that's ever happened to me " and I couldn't take this so I ran out of the grill crying , everything he said was so beautiful I just couldn't handle it I lost it , I ran all the way to the cemetery to visit my mom and dad who have been Dead for 3 years now . I just didn't know what to do .

On my way home i decide to take a short cut through the woods and then i just happened to run into Stefan. I fell on the ground from bumping heads and he said, " All Shit i'm sorry, I didn't think anyone would be out here this late." He said as he helped me up, "What are you doing here?" i said, " I was on a date with my boyfriend Matt but hes my ex now and i tried breaking up with him but he said a whole bunch of sweet things, i just couldn't see him like that. So i decided to run away from the date, from him and ended up here at my parents grave. I'm just so upset now i don't know what to do." He said, " Well you can come to my place and rest for awhile and we can talk , then ill take you back to your house if you want?" And she's said , " okay thanks "

Stefan walked Elena to his car and he opened the door for her, and I said ," thanks ". Stefan said , " no problem ". I blushed. Stefan got in the drivers seat and started to drive to his house, which was what looked like the middle of no where, it was out in the middle of the woods.
We finally arrived at what looked like Stefan's house , i was guessing was Stefan's house. He pulled up to the front door and he got out of the drivers side and, went around to the back of the car. And opened my door for me to get out, and again I said , "thank you ". He said, " no problem ".
He then said, " You go inside, while I park my car in the garage." So I said, " Okay". So I walked up to front door, while he drove away to the garage. I opened the door to find a man standing by a table in the hallway. He started walking toward me, so I just stood there. I didn't know what to do.
He said , " Katherine, I've missed you so much ". I said, " Um... Who's Katherine, you must have me mistaken for someone else??" He said, " Oh .. Well then, I'm Damon, Damon Salvatore."
