Dream on

Chapter 2

I wake up, and find myself not dreading school. Actually, I'm excited. I hop in the shower, get dressed, and walk to the bus stop. Thankfully, I don't run into Claire on my way. But when I get to the bus stop she's there. But so is Will. Thankfully, I don't have to face Claire's wrath alone. He looks up from his book, and smiles. I didn't notice he had braces before. I smile back, and make my way over.

"Hey." I say trying to sound casual.
"What's up?"

"Nothing. Claire keeps giving me crap about yesterday though."

"Of course she is. She can do whatever she wants cause her daddy's the mayor." I made a mocking voice from 'cause' and 'mayor'. Somehow, Claire overheard, because she was coming our way. And the worst part, she had that glare on her face. The one that looks like she wants to kill us. If looks could kill, I would've died in 4th grade.

"What about my daddy?!?" She emphasizes on 'daddy'. "You better not be talk bad about him. He could have you suspended in a heartbeat." She says dramatically.

"We weren't talking about your daddy. We were talking about...Maddie. Yeah, we think she cheats on some of her tests." Will says nervously. He was covering so we didn't get in trouble with the mayor. I don't know why but I guess I'll go along.

"Uhh yeah...we think she sneaks her phone in while everyone else gives it to the teacher." I say casually.

"But we got it covered." Will says before Claire can say anything.

"Ugh. Whatever." She flips her hair and waits for the bus. Claire is so clueless. I actually have a nickname I call her when she's not around. 'Clueless Claire'. Of course any one can come up with that, but I think it suits her perfectly. The bus finally arrives, so I go back to dreading school. But to my surprise, instead of Claire saving me a seat, Will saves me a seat. I take a seat next to him, and instead of making fun of me behind my back, Claire actually stays quiet. Like she's seen a ghost or something. Maybe I should get to know this Will guy a little better.
