I wake up to the harsh buzzing of my old fashioned alarm clock. The time reads 6:30 in dim red lines. My hand fumbles for the button and I drag myself out of bed. I feel the cold floor on my feet and a rush of nervoursness in my chest. my bus leaves at 7:30 so I need to get ready quite quickly. the schools uniform is absolutely hideous so I make a few alterations here and there. I tackle the birds nest that has replaced my usually neat hair with a half broken comb. I wonder how popular I'll be. Usually it's somewhere around the half way mark, maybe less. I don't want to be in the 'popular' group but neither do I want to be included in the weirdos club.
My little brother waddles into the room with a cookie stuffed into his mouth. I pick him up and put him onto my bed, cringing when he spits out a shower of crumbs all over me in an attempt to speak.
"Coo-kie," he says enthusiasticly, pointing at the cookie he has just dropped onto the carpet.
"yeah, and now cookie is all over the floor!" I say. I wonder if toddlers know what sarcasm is. I pick up all the larger crumbs and throw them in the bin. I sit down at my desk and try to fit my deathly hallows keyring to my new locker key.
"Arcie!" Casper anounces. I look up at him and he giggles loudly. I look back at my key and carry on frustratedly fiddling with the keyring.
"Arcie!" He says agian, this time laughing hysterically when I glance up at him.
"Arcieee!"
"Right, had enough of you," I say as I pick him up and deposit him outside my bedroom and shut the door. I gather my things and grab a pair of headphones before continuing to get ready.
