"Woah! This place is so beautiful! Forget the scary path! This is sooo worth it,"

[Baekhyun]

Is this place-"Jinnie! Is this...?" She gave me an enthusiastic nod. I quickly ran to her and lifted her up by her waist. I spun her around in the air. We looked like we were reenacting a love story.

Most of the guys cleared their throats to lessen the awkwardness. "I can't believe you still remembered this place," I said. This place is where we first met. It's where I first heard her voice, but unfortunately, it was also the last time.

10 years ago, same place.

"Uwaaah! I'm lost! Aish, this place is so scary. But still, Baekhyun, you're a man," I spoke to myself as I got lost in a dark and scary forest. "Ah! Ghost!" I screamed as an unknown thing tapped my shoulder. I turned around to find a girl who was a tad bit shorter than me. "Oh, it's just a girl, not a ghost," I looked at her, strangely, she has an eye patch on. She returned my gaze and not long after, we heard a booming voice not far away from us.

"Where's that little girl?! What are you all doing?! Find her!" We heard footsteps heading towards us. All of a sudden, the strange girl grabbed my hand and started running really fast, unknown to the fact that due to her speed, she was practically dragging me.

Several questions were running inside my mind at the same speed she was. I saw a blockage ahead of us. EH?! If we don't stop running now, we might crash onto that wall! I closed my eyes as she continued to pull me. I expected a huge pain but still, nothing came, just the feeling of going through a bush. I opened my eyes and was completely astonished.

What a beautiful place! So those weren't blockages. They were just a couple of leaves, vines, and a few twigs that appear like blockage.

We were currently on a clear field with a variety of flowers scattered everywhere. There was a nearby lake here. All in all, it felt magical-at least for a twelve year-old Byun Baekhyun.

I looked at the girl who dragged me to this place. "Yah! Who told you that you can drag me like th- Omo! Are you okay miss?!" My scolding was cut short as the girl nearly collapsed to the ground. She nodded weakly. Is she sure about that? She looks pale and weak. And only now did I notice that she had wounds all over her body and she was slightly covered in blood. I got a small towel from my backpack and dipped it slightly in the lake and came back to the girl.

I cleaned her wounds all her wounds but unfortunately, I dropped the band-aids from my pocket while we were running earlier. She looked at me thankfully and took some rocks and arranged them, forming a word.

YuJin. Her name's YuJin. "My name is Baekhyun. Byun Baekhyun." She reached her hand out for a handshake but I didn't take it. I gave her a huge hug.

"Why did I hug you? One, as sorry for scolding you earlier. Two, for saving me from those guys. I mean, even though they were after you, they could've also taken me if you didn't take me here. Three, because I think you need a hug. And lastly, because you are adorable," I said as I pinched her cheeks. I feel sleepy. "I'm so tired, aren't you?" I asked her. She shook her head and patted her lap, signalling me to lie down. I lied down with my head on her lap. I was about to fall asleep when I heard a soft voice singing.

She stopped briefly and I heard soft sobs. A few tears were falling onto my face. After a few seconds, she continued with her voice breaking.

The war out side our door keeps raging on.

She broke into louder sobs and that's when I opened my eyes to see her crying. Her eye patch was nowhere to be found and she had her eyes closed. I got up from her lap, startling her, and got my handkerchief from my pocket. I used it to wiped her tears.

"It's okay to cry. From now on, I'll be the shoulder you can lean on," I softly said to her and wrapped my arms around her. She cried and cried in my arms. When she sang, it was the first time that I heard her voice, and little did I know, that it would also be the last time.

Back to present, same place.

"Yah! Baekhyun! We've been calling you for so long now! The food is ready by the way," Xiumin hyung said. I guess I spaced out earlier.

"Kim YuJin, will I ever hear your voice again?"
