C'est la Saint Valentin. Marie and Joël made special plans to have a picnic together near the lake. Marie had insisted on bringing wine glasses to pour their sparkling cider in, and she insisted on taking aesthetic pictures of the picnic. Joël listened, knowing he couldn't deny his sweetheart.

Joël had planned Marie with a surprise homemade red velvet cake. He put all his effort into it and did not care about how expensive the best ingredients were. It was probably the most expensive cake he had ever made.

Joël arrived outside Marie's house in his car, waiting for her to come out. When she finally did (she spent an awful lot of time on her makeup), Joël found himself staring. When she came into the car, he forgot that he was supposed to start driving. Did she greet him? He definitely didn't hear anything.

«Joël? Tu es là? »

«Marie..Tu es un ange..»

Marie laughed lightheartedly, finding how her sweetheart really was tranced by her. They gazed into each other's eyes, subconsciously leaning in.

Marie grinned and turned away.

«Mon père est juste là, sur le porche.»

"My dad is right there, on the porch."

«Mon dieu! ..Mais je veux te baiser, Marie,» Joël said in the cheeky manner Marie had gotten used to.

"My god! ..But I wanna kiss you, Marie."

«Joël!!

..Allons au lac, alors.»

"Joël!!

..Let's go to the lake, then."

Ils sont all- ahem, They drove to the lake, which wasn't too far from home. When they got there, they set out a plaid red picnic blanket that Marie had bought specifically for this one occasion. "Pour l'esthétique," Marie insisted. And Joël couldn't deny his sweetheart.

The two organized fruit in one corner of the blanket, and sweets in another corner. Joël poured sparkling cider into Marie's wine glass.

"Pour mon ange," Joël said playfully.

"Pour mon ange," Marie said while pouring his glass.

As they talked for hours, sunset washed over them. They gazed into each other's eyes, red and orange and purple painted over their skin.

"Je t'aime, Joël."

"Je t'aime, Marie."

They only stopped to eat Joël's delicious red velvet cake, painted with a pink infinity symbol representing their love.
