- muzan

i wish night lasted forever. the pale moon and it's dark starry blanket are such a comforting sight. plus, i wouldn't have to worry about the blue spider lilly.

as i run away from the defeated hashira, i can't hold back my smile. it was excruciatingly easy to win that fight- and even though we didn't have a satisfactory battle, he leaves me wanting more. hell, i don't even know what i want more of. i want to examine him like an insect. to extract his thoughts and opinions from his brain. i want to understand him.

i want him to become a demon. i need him to become a demon. my footsteps grow a little heavier the further away from the valley i go. my lungs heave while i run at full speed away from michikatsu. im heading to the nearest village, i will have to wait for the day to end for me to return to tamayo and the infinity fortress.

my figure shrinks as i morph my body to suit my proper disguise. my suit seems larger on my figure as i see the small speck of a house in the distance. i have to hurry. taking longer strides and taking less care of my appearance, the dark sky begins to turn to light purples that rival michikatsu's.

no, they don't rival michikatsu's. why am i comparing the sky to some demon slayer's eyes? i furrow my brow.

the small and run-down house seems to be a Wisteria Inn for demon slayers. Not really a great place to hide the fact that I am a demon. A middle aged woman sits on the entrance to the house. she is probably waiting to watch the sunrise. she isn't facing me, and as i change my form to look like any other person i try to speed up my pace.

"ma'am!" i exclaim, trying to catch her attention. she doesn't hear my younger and softer voice through the soft whispers of the wind.

"ma'am!" finally reaching the woman, i take a second to catch my breath.

"is this a wisteria inn? i need somewhere to stay." i try to soften my gaze towards her.

"..are you part of the demon slayer corps..? where's your katana?" she asks as she looks me up and down- definitely noticing my now oversized clothing.

"..no. i just escaped a demon that was up in the mountains. i was bringing some wood to a town on the other side of the valley and he attacked me." it is difficult not to break out laughing at how pathetic that story is.

the woman's expression is solemn. "you look unscathed. you must be one lucky kid. come inside."

i follow her inside quickly. the sky is looking more blue than before and i'm glad i was able to convince her to bring me inside before the sun rose. this woman seems pretty gullible. can't wait to laugh at her existence later.

she leads me down a hallway and turns left, leading me into a room with a mattress and a futon folded neatly.

"tell me if you need anything. i'll be watching the sunrise." she stated flatly, watching as my sharp gaze scans the empty room.

at least she didn't invite me to watch the sunrise with  her. she's too quiet. too replaceable. maybe once night falls tonight i'll kill her. just maybe.
