"Don't open the door to anyone not even me." Ma stated as she closed and locked the front door behind her on her way to work. Tiago runs to his room and watches television, as he hears the microwave beep he goes back to the kitchen to grab the ramen out and a fork. 'I'm only 5 and she wants me to be home alone' he thinks to himself as he walks back to his room to finish watching TV.
A couple hours go by Tiago goes to sleep for the night. His mother arrives home late in the night and goes to sleep soon after.
"MOOOM I'M HUNGRY" Tiago yells as he attempts to wake up his mother with his frail body jumping on the bed. she mumbles "ok ok i'm up i'm up". He runs out the room and to the living room while she gets his things ready for daycare.
quick a/n: I'm gonna skip a couple years because that was just so you guys can see how it all started, anyways- onward. Tiago is 8 now...
Ma gets home from work and heads into the kitchen. "Tiago did you finish you're homework" she yells "yes mom I did it when I was on the bus" I yell back. A lie. One of the few lies I started telling her. "okaayy I better not get a call from your teacher" she tells me. "Don't worry mom I did it." I lie again. We were living in a small apartment in New York City with my older cousin and her son Q. Me and Q get along as well as any cousins could, we play fought, jumped down, would go up to my older sisters apartment and play with my niece, Han, we were all the same age them only a year and a couple months younger. My mother started cooking dinner as my older cousin, Ana, came back home from work, "Hi titi". yes i called her titi because its a thing for people who were way older than me and apart of my family, all the other kids did it as well so i wasn't the only one just the last cousin of the 1st generation. "Hey baby how was school" Ana asks as I'm walking into the living room. "It was ok I don't really talk to anybody though I guess its because I've only been there for a month" I replied with a sad tone. "Well that's ok eventually you will make friends just take your time and don't be afraid" she answers with a soothing tone that calmed me down. "Ok I'll try" I say. "It's ok I'll be your friend Ago" my younger cousin states trying to make me feel better, I smiled at his statement and thanked him.
We ran back to the room and as I'm walking back I overhear my mother and cousin talking. "Don't worry we'll be out of your hair soon I just need to get back on my feet" that was my mother. We were always moving around and never stayed in any place long enough for me to call it home. "Well you need to find a permanent place. You should let Tiago stay here for a while until you find some place to live" I knew my cousin felt bad for me but I never liked pity. I loved the attention I received like any other kid but I hated when people looked at me with a pure pitiful look. I walked past the living room and into the kitchen asking for a cup of juice from my mother, she hands me a small cup and a half empty container of juice. I poured myself a cup and I asked my mother "A-Are we moving again?" she looked from the pot of rice to me and said "yes Tiago but not yet". We got into an argument that day as it was the first of many.
A/N: ookaayyy so this was just the minor intro to the small things that in the next couple chapters you'll figure out certain things except Tiago will be a bit older and in a more permanent place to live. anyways let me know what you guys think :).
