This book and my art in general has had a DRAMATIC shift from fanart to OC art by the way. I remember when I was a little younger (14 or 15 or so) and I was like "I'm never making OCs!!!" because I thought they were kinda cringe. At that stage in my life I thought OC just meant fan characters and I'd only had experience with mid-at-best Sonic OCs.
And I said to myself I would never be that person who shipped their OC with the canon characters or made ""Mary Sues"" (which was the whole inspiration behind Penni LOL) and that sentiment still kinda sticks around because I am just waiting for the day someone comes and says "your OCs suck and you're a horrible writer" 👍👍👍
Tbh I don't think I'm ever getting rid of that fear but I can learn to control it 👍
But yeah it was just something I noticed 🤔 never would've thought I'd have so many OCs. Kind of a nightmare sometimes but I also love my little creations
