Zena and The 1975

Chapter 2

I was in the middle of a dream about how it would feel if the wind could blow through my hair when there was a wet lick on my face. Still being 99% asleep I wiped my cheek and mumbled something about a old dog I had named Banter. That's when I realized Banter died when I was 11. My eyes snapped open to see a smirking Destrey.

"DESTREY WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!!" I yelled that which caused my dad to run upstairs and open my door.

"What is going on up here?" My dad lets Destrey sleep in my room purely because we have known each other sense we were born. He trusts him but not his 17 year old hormones.

"Nothing dad Destrey just woke me up meanly." My dad rolls his eyes knowing waking me up is not a good idea.

"Well good I was going to wake you, but I was scared for my life a little. I have a surprise for you so shower and fix your birds nest." Dad left my room shutting my door behind him. Shuffling to the bathroom still in a sleep daze I stubbed my toe on my dresser.

"Dang it you stupid meatball I hate you I hate you so much. You couldn't have moved three inches to the left dang flabbit." I screamed this while jumping up and down causing me not to be able to breath and search for my inhaler. After two minutes of toe pain and inhaler searching Destrey decides to throw it at me.

"I *puff* hate you *puff*" That sentence causes Destrey to smirk and walk to me.

"I know you have told me." Destrey leans in kisses my cheek then leaves.

I groan and get up mumbling how much I hate him and the dresser while turning on the shower. The water was warm on my body and the hum of the circulator was drowned out. Once out the shower dressed and hair brushed I hoped down the stairs into the kitchen.

"Good morning dad, hello Sam." Dad and Sam looked very interested in whatever they found that was contraband so I walked into the kitchen where I saw Zena with Destrey.

"ZENA OMG ZENA" Zena turned around and gave me a huge hug.

"Girls can we stop the squealing we are not pigs." Destreys dad Sam said.

That made Zena snort and Sam mumble maybe they are pigs or something along those lines.

"Zena why are you here I thought you went to go work in the city."

"Let's go to the basement"

The basement is where dad and Destreys dad do their work. It's indestructible and sound proof so enforcers can find it or scan to see what is inside. All the contraband music I have is down there.

" Sense when did Destrey get so hot?" I choked on my own spit and almost dropped the 1975 cd I had in my hand.

"You did not just say that Zena." The song chocolate poured through the speakers and Zena's eyes looked sad.

"I know, I Miss your brother to. It's been 3 years I think I need to move on. I loved Ari so so much I mean we were dating sense 7th grade. Do you like Destrey, Rey?" I have known Zena sense I was 10. Ari met here when they were 14 in 7th grade. Even after he died she stayed she was there for me when I lost him.

"No I don't like Destrey he's attractive sure but no. I think I just miss Ari, you moving on is like him leaving." Zena sighed and dug through the draw next to the cds.

She pulled out a picture of when me and Ari were younger. I remember the day we were with dad and mom playing outside before it got to hot. Mom died that day but it's still my favorite picture of me and Ari it shows how close we were.

"I know you were close. But I will never stopped loving Ari. I don't want to do anything to hurt you and I'm not even looking for a relationship if you know what I mean." The picture felt light in my hand and I studied Ari smile.

"Ya I get it, Destrey could probably use a good bang." That made her laugh and start crying a little.

"By the way what is this band?"

"It's the 1975 they're very good." I got up to turn off the music and head upstairs

Hey Rey, you just had to leave me upstairs with the parents didn't you." I rolled my eyes and walked past him. The clock said 12 at night but I grabbed my air mask anyway and stepped outside. I could hear Zena and Destrey laughing and talking as I shut the door. I'm not jealous because I don't like Destrey I can't like Destrey but I don't like them flirting.

"Rey wait! Hey umm me and Zena are going to go to my place. Um mm I'll see you later ok?."

"Destrey we have school in like 30 minutes you're going to skip? To fuck Zena really Destrey?" Now I was pissed and I could tell he was hurt.

"I'm not like you Rey, I'm not perfect and I have needs I can't wait around for the girl I want." His tone of voice was mean and sassy.

I roll my eyes and walk the direction of school.

"There is no one girl you want Destrey! Everybody's a hook up to you." I said loud enough for him to here. He said something I couldn't here but I kept walking. The school was crowded with enforcers and kids trying to scan there I.D cards.

A enforcer came up to me and brought me to the front of the line.

"Scan your I.D card and report to the principal's office." Now I got scared what if they found out about SeaWorld. I could be thrown in jail or mutated or killed. By the time I got to the principal's office I was scared and my mouth was dry.

"Reylen Coal please come in. Would you like something to drink." The principle gestured to the large selection behind him.

"Umm apple juice please." He nodded and a enforcer came in to poor it.

"Thank you." That was more said in a whisper as the enforcer rudely handed it to me then stood by the door.

"My dear, you can calm down you're not in trouble. I just wanted to ask if you have seen Destrey he hasn't been here." my eyes winded knowing I couldn't tell them he's been skipping for he can get in real trouble.

"He has been very sick, I haven't really seen him he's been in his room." The principle looked suspicious but nodded his head.

"Very well then, remember Reylen Coal. You follow the rules somebody just broke into SeaWorld, Whoever it is is in huge trouble." I stood up nodded and ran out to the bathroom. I was freaking out I think they knew but I couldn't call Destrey his dick was problem stuck up Zena's vagina. The thought of that made me want to punch a wall but instead I went to class. The day went to slow and by the clock rang I was ready to go home and eat some food. I took the bus home due to the air being too thick for me to breath . The bus was loud today girls were complaining about the air masks messing up there stupid hair while I couldn't care less. By the time I got home I was ready to kill somebody.

"Hi Hun how was your day." I rolled my eyes and my dad chuckled Knowing it was bad.

"Ice Creams in the fridge Breakfast Club and The Incredible's is upstairs I'll bring you pizza later."

That was the good thing about having only a dad they were so simple and didn't like talking about feelings. I ate Ice Cream and Pizza watched both my movies and became board. So I check my phone and say 4 missed called and 2 texts all from Destrey.

- Rey why are you so mad

I just didn't feel like talking to Destrey right now so I turned off my phone and went to sleep to the hum of the air in the house.
