Seph spent her day going through the motions at work. While in her office trying to complete the pile of paperwork on her desk, she mechanically answered her ringing phone.
"Seph Noble." She stated in her customer service voice.
"Hey Bitch!" Bella's voice trilled
"Hey B! What's up?" Seph replied cheerily. Nothing could boost her mood like her best friend.
"How was your date?" Bella cut straight to the point.
"It wasn't a date" Seph quickly exclaimed.
'Well, that's a lie Noble.' Seph thought to herself.
"Uh huh. Sure it wasn't." Bella chuckled on the other end of the line and continued, "Tell me all about it."
"He picked me up, we ate, and then he dropped me off. End of story." Seph kept it concise and to the point.
A quiet laugh trilled in Seph's ear.
"Spill it bitch. What happened?" Bella demanded.
"Fine!" Seph huffed before continuing, "It was confusing as hell. I wanna kiss him one second and hit him upside the head next."
Bella laughed so hard in response that Seph couldn't get a word in. She waited for it to quiet down before she continued.
"It's not funny Bells! I don't know how to be a normal fucking person around him. He drives me insane. I won't see that alpha male son of a bitch anymore." Seph felt her blood pressure rising by the end of her rant.
"Chill Seph. If you don't want to see him again then don't see him again." Bella said trying to calm her friend down.
Seph sighed, "Look I just, I just feel like I lose who I am around him. You know how I like to be in control of the situation?"
"Yes, yes I do." Bella quickly interjected.
"Well, every time I think I have a read on him and can be in control, he flips the script. First, he's all alpha male and in charge and later he's charming and irresistible. I don't know how to handle him, so I don't even want to try." Seph said sounding almost defeated.
"Alright, it sounds to me that you need a night out to forget Mister Wrong so you can find Mister Right Now. I'll meet you at Remi's Bar around eight?" Bella said as if she was always ready with a solution.
Tempted by the thought of an easy fix, Seph agreed. Ending the call, Seph got back to her paperwork. She lost herself in busy work and let the time slip by. Before she knew it her assistant was in her office waving goodbye for the evening. Seph glanced at the time and saw that it was already six o'clock. She went home to get ready for her night out with Bella.
"Sepphy!" As soon as she opened the door to her home, she could hear Sera announce her greeting from across the house.
"Hey Sera." Seph replied just loud enough to be heard as she headed to her room.
Heading straight to her closet, Seph got to work with finding an outfit to help her stand out just enough to forget her troubling lion. Selecting a cobalt blue dress to accent her bright blue eyes, Seph set it aside and headed for the shower.
Popping her head into Seph's room Sera inquired, "What're you up to Sepphy?"
"I'm going out with Bells. We're getting a few drinks." Seph answered.
