Never Look Him In The Eyes

Gwindolyne;

I laid there on the couch, sobbing after Gerard left the room. I didn't know what he was doing to me, or why, or how he was doing it. All I knew- was that he was manipulating me somehow.

And I don't like to be manipulated.

A few minutes later, Gerard came back into the room, an apologetic look in his eyes.

"Gwindolyne, it's... Time to leave now. Would you come with us?" Gerard asked.

I wanted to say no, to tell him I had plans, but the way his eyes sparkled and changed colors...

"I'd love to." No, that wasn't what I'd wanted to say!

Gerard smiled and walked over to me, then sat down next to me on the small couch. I swallowed nervously and blinked, not looking at him. Gerard chuckled.

"Why are you so nervous, Gwin? Do you think I'd be sitting here idle if I was going to hurt you?" he asked. I shook my head.

"Please look at me, Gwin." I turned my body to face him. "I want you to come with myself and the boys. It'll be fun, I promise," he whispered, once again brushing my hair out of my face.

"Alright," I whispered, "I'll come with you." Gerard smiled a bit.

"Good," he whispered, and then I passed out.

Gerard;

"Good," I whispered, then Gwindolyne passed out.

She slumped forward and I caught her, smiling softly at her lightness. I picked up her limp body and carried her out the door, nudging it shut with my foot behind me.

I watched her chest as it filled with air and then sank back down, almost rhythmically. Almost. I smiled. What a fragile human girl. She was falling in love with me, and she knew it too.

"Long ago, just like the hearse you die to get in again. We are so far from you..." I whispered as I retraced my steps, out of the tunnels and to our tour bus.

Frank, Ray, and Mikey perked up when I stepped into the living area with the unconscious girl in my arms. Frank smiled at her throat menacingly.

"I get first shot at her," he whispered harshly.

I wrapped my arms around her protectively and glared at my best friend. No way was he going to hurt Gwin while she was unconscious.

"No. I get first shot at her. Not any of you fucktards. Me," I said, with an emphasis on the word 'me.'

Frank growled deep in his throat and Gwin whimpered softly. She was waking up. I glared at Frank again.

"Go to your bunks, all of you. I want to talk to Gwin alone when she wakes up," I said. Frank snorted.

"As if you haven't done that enough," he smirked. Still, he got up and walked back to his bunk.

I looked pointedly at Ray and Mikey and they hurried to the back. They knew not to question me. I sat down on the couch, holding Gwin's cold body against my own.

Her slender fingers curled into fists as she gripped my shirt, and I brushed her hair out of her closed eyes. She somehow managed to press herself closer to me in her sleep, and that's something I've never seen before.

I closed my eyes and breathed in her scent, and she stirred a little. I just pulled her closer and tucked her head under my chin, resting her forehead against my neck. Her skin was cool, nearly as cold and lifeless as mine.

"Gerard..." she whispered. I stroked her hair.

"Yes?" I replied. Gwin snuggled closer to me.

"I love you..." Then she drifted back to sleep.

I blinked as I felt a bloody tear roll down my face.

"I love you too," I whispered.

This was not good. I was falling in love.

With a mortal.
