3 DAYS LATER;

THE NIGHT OF THE CONCERT...

__________________________

Gwindolyne;

I was practically bouncing up and down, I was so excited to be there. I walked up to the front doors of the building, and looked at the sign taped to the door.

'CONCERT CANCELLED DUE TO THE ILLNESS OF THE LEAD SINGER' it read. I swore out loud. I had been so looking forward to this!

Something was up. You don't cancel a concert the day of it because the lead singer is sick. I decided to take a look backstage. I had a pass in my back pocket, the laniard sticking out. I figured this wasn't going to be very easy. There were always security guards hanging around. But instead, there were no guards or security of any kind. I crept around a pile of boxes and an amp and heard a voice. I froze, listening for the owner.

"Do you think she'll come back here? I mean, there's no one else here. Why would she?" That was Frank, one of the guitarists.

"She has to, Frank. It's all set up. She's the only one with a pass, there's no guards, and humans are naturally curious. She'll come back here." That was Gerard, the lead singer who was supposedly 'ill.' He didn't seem it.

I walked out from my spot behind the boxes and let Gerard and Frank see my. I must've looked like a ghost, my pale skin and long black hair. Not to mention my sharp canines, making me look like a vampire.

"Hey, sweetheart. Gosh, I thought you were sick! Boy, was I wrong," I said to Gerard. He stood up with Frank and began walking towards me.

I stopped. I wasn't scared. Gerard continued walking towards me and started circling me. His eyes travelled up my chest, to my neck, to my teeth, then back to my neck. Something was wrong. The way he stared at my neck as though he was a starving animal... It wasn't right. He finally stopped right in front of me and stepped closer to me. I didn't move. He placed his finger on my collarbone and started tracing a curlicue pattern up and along the ridge.

"You must be Gwindolyne, right sweetheart?" he asked quietly. I nodded, refusing to speak.

"What're you doing back here alone? It's dangerous..." He began tracing his finger up my neck, creating another swirling pattern.

"Looking for you guys, what else?" I asked. He smiled a bit.

Frank began walking towards us, and I saw Ray and Mikey step out from behind a pile of crates and equipment. Gerard turned his head, not taking his hand away, and looked at Frank out of the corner of his eye.

"Frank, why don't you and the boys go back to the lounge and wait for me and Gwindolyne here, yes?" Frank nodded and motioned for Ray and Mikey to follow him.

Once they were all out of sight, Gerard turned back to me, smiling slightly. I was starting to get a bit nervous, the way he would just stare at my neck, and the way his cool fingers brushed it softly as though he didn't want to mess anything up.

"Congratulations, Gwindolyne. You won the contest." I smiled back at him just a bit.

"Call me Gwin, Gerard. It's easier to say." He smiled and nodded to me.

"Alright. But only if you'll come back to the dressing room with me for a few minutes." I nodded, deciding to just play along with it.

Gerard led me around in the darkness of the corridors backstage, and my 'night vision' kicked in. I followed him down a staircase, up a staircase, around three left turns and then two right turns to the dressing room. He opened the door for me and gestured for me to enter. He came in after me, then closed the door softly behind him. He sat down on a black leather love seat and motioned for me to sit next to him. I sat down and looked over at him, curious to know where he was going with this. He twisted his body around so he was facing me, and brushed a stray lock of my black hair out of my face. His face was carefully expressionless as he brushed the hair out of my face and smoothed it down. I swallowed. He was trying to do something, I just knew he was. But what was he trying to do? He finally stopped fixing my hair and opened his mouth to speak.

"So, Gwin, do you like my band much?"

"I love your band, Gerard. You guys saved my fucking life." He nodded slowly, as if he was assessing me.

"What's your favorite song that we play?" My breathing was getting shaky and it was hard to think straight with his soft, cool, hand stroking my neck.

"I think it's... Helena. Yes. Helena. That one is my favorite..." He smiled at me a bit.

"Are you nervous, Gwin? You shouldn't be. And I can prove to you that you shouldn't be..." He leaned in and gently pressed his lips against mine.

My eyes widened in shock, but after a moment, I closed them and brought my hand up to his face. He put his hands around my neck, and leaned his head to the side to deepen the kiss. My heart started going faster and I almost couldn't breathe. He pulled away slightly, and looked me in the eyes.

"Are you still nervous, Gwin? I hope not..." He leaned in again, and pressed his lips to mine again.

This time, before he could do anything, I licked his lip, and he opened his mouth to let me in. My tongue moved against his, and he pushed me down against the cushions and straddled my waist. We were interrupted by a short knock on the door. Gerard gently pulled away and stood up to answer the door. Oh my god, what had I been doing?...
