A/N To anyone reading this who's confused: this is a fanfic that I am writing for @sophiebbrownie and the boy who she likes that I've never actually met or seen a picture of. Like 2/3 joking 1/3 serious
Freddie came down the stairs, and Sophie's breath caught in her throat; he was so handsome. Dark hair swept over his face, eyes a beautiful green-blue; the colour of the sea on a calm, warm summer's day, when tourists and holidaymakers would flock to the beach just to revel in it's beauty.
"You look beautiful," said Freddie in a deep, cool voice.
But Sophie's eyes were troubled. Freddie couldn't bear to see the pain and hesitation inside of them - they were like meadows on a dark autumn day. Usually so pretty, but now they were clouded with worry.
"My dear Sophia, what is-a wrong with you?" He chuckled, trying an Italian accent to lighten the mood. But Sophie only gave a small half-smile, and her eyes remained big and nervous.
Freddie's grin faded slightly, and he nodded his head slightly, as if to tell her to tell him.
Sophie sighed. The weight of all her troubles seemed compressed into that one rushing sound, and she spoke quietly.
"You never usually pay me compliments. I'm used to you swearing at me and teasing me, just joking around, nothing to serious. So what has changed with you, and why?"
