"order number 5!"
you watched as the man quickly stood up and walked over to grab his drink. before he left, he let out a quick thank you to which you just smiled back.
you sit down behind the register, sighing at how slow of a day it's been. it's nice not to be bombarded with customers, but at the same time it keeps you busy so you don't mind it as much.
you're the only one working as the rest of your coworkers called off. however, you needed the extra hours so you didn't complain.
after scrolling through your phone for what felt like hours, a little bell sound rang throughout the cafe. you look up only to see 3 men who've you become very familiar with as they are regulars.
"welcome in!" you shout, not even trying to contain how excited you were.
the three boys wave excitedly, two of them heading to sit down at their usual spot. you watch as the third man approaches you, confidence radiating all around him.
"i was looking through the menu online, and it doesn't seem to have the one thing i want," the man says.
you hold back a laugh, deciding to play along.
"oh? and what would that be?"
"your number, of course" he says with a smirk.
the two men sitting down couldn't help but listen in to the conversation, each letting out laughs.
you both turn towards the commotion, waiting for a response.
"hyuck you're literally dating her, we came for the drinks not to watch you poorly hit on your girlfriend" the man says with his hand running through his hair.
"i can't help it renjun, look at my favorite barista go" haechan replies proudly.
the boy sitting down rolls his eyes, turning his attention back to his friend.
"anyways, is there anything you would actually like to order from this menu?" you reply with a wide smile.
"do i even need to tell you?" haechan says, staring into your eyes.
"then go ahead over and have a seat, it'll be ready shortly" you say while turning around.
he stands still, not even hesitating to reply
"but i wanna see how you work your magic, you always make us the best coffee and pastries. how about you come to my place and teach me?"
though your back was turned, you could feel his smirk from a mile away. before you have a chance to speak up, the other boy sitting next to renjun slams his head on the table.
"if you don't let her do her job im going to turn YOU into a pastry, im hungry and you're a distraction" the boy responds.
you giggle at his sentence, speaking up before haechan can whine
"chenles right haechan. ill get to work right away. as for you im going to need you to stay on that side of the counter sir."
he smirks, heading over to his friends while taking two of his fingers and pointing them back and forth between you and his eyes.
"i'm watching you" he mouths before sitting down.
you can't help but smile at his personality. while your making their orders which you have memorized by heart, you think of all the times they come in here and order from this cafe when you're working.
it may seem like nothing, but the dreamies all know that you really enjoy being a barista and dream of owning your own cafe one day.
any chance they get between schedules or breaks, they never hesitate to come and order from you.
