Jean's pov

Damn why is he everywhere? I guess it's a good thing that y/n left, I don't think she would have wanted to see Reiner

Reiner stood in front of Jean, who was sitting down on a bench outside finishing up his drink

"Yeah it was y/n, she said she had to get back to class so she left.", Jean responded 

Reiner scoffed and raised his eyebrow, "So you guys were hanging out just now? She must be desperate if she picked you as her next boytoy but you do know she's more into blondes right?"

Boytoy? I wish. Kidding but it'd be nice to think she'd even see me as more than the guy who is best friends with her roommate.

Also why is he bringing up y/n like that, we were just hanging out as friends. Have I developed feelings for her? Yeah but that's not Reiner's business

"What are you talking about?"

Reiner took a seat next to Jean on the bench and faced his body towards him

He placed his hand on Jean's shoulder, "Kirstein, it's obvious to me that you're interested in her."

I don't wanna say anything out of pocket in case he bothers y/n about this

Jean slapped Reiner's hand off of him, "Don't act like we're buddies or something. Also...I literally haven't even known her for more than a week?"

"So what? It takes a man 8.2 seconds to fall in love. Plus you had a puppy dog face after she left and I've seen that same look on someone else before."

Nice to know y/n also had the same effect on someone else, I don't feel as much of a hopeless romantic now. Of course Reiner is flexing his dumb psychology major knowledge. He must be a master manipulative by now, poor y/n if they ever actually dated.

I'll just give him what he wants and hopefully he will leave me alone.

"Fine, okay I think she's beautiful so what? Is there something wrong with that?"

Reiner snarled, "Yeah there is something wrong with that because she's mine."

He's insane

"She's yours?", Jean started chuckling. "I don't think she's an object you can just claim and plus didn't she slap you the other night? I don't think she'd slap someone she's in a relationship with."

"Kirstein, you really don't know shit about her."

I know that she doesn't like you and that's all I need to know

"That isn't stopping me from liking her."

"Okay well, it's never going to work out just letting you know.", Reiner sighed

"Why do you say that?"

"You think I'm your only competition when it comes to her? Neither of us can compete with the guy who actually has her heart."

No one else has made a move on y/n besides Reiner...well from what I know of. I should ask Sasha later about this

"I don't see that guy here though," Jean says as he throws his hands in the air

"That's because that dumbass is... you know what okay.". Reiner took a second to think. "Ask her out on a date."

Jean glared at him in confusion, "You were literally just telling me to back off from her and now you want me to go out with her?"

"I know  y/n like the back of my hand, she's going to say no but I'm letting you have a chance since she's going to take me back soon."

What's up with his obsession with y/n? One minute he claims she's his and then the next he mentioned some other guy having her heart and now he's back to his narcissistic self

"I don't think she'd get back with an imbecile like you...that is if you guys were ever really dating"

"Asshole"

"I'll do it though.", Jean says as he took out his phone and started to type his text to y/n:

"Hey, let's go on a date this weekend."

I do want to let her know I'm interested in her so she can see me as an option. I don't think she'll take it in a bad way, besides we can get to know each other more on the date.

Reiner peeped over to see Jean's phone screen, "Oh wow, I didn't think you'd do it. Good luck on getting her to actually go on the date though."

"Whatever. I'm gonna go to my apartment but I'll keep you updated since she'll definitely say yes and I might just as well ask her to be my girlfriend by the end of the date.", Jean joked

Reiner rolled his eyes, "'I'm just doing this because I already know how this is going to end. Plus I wanna see you embarrass yourself."

"Yeah sure. Bye Reiner.", Jean said walking away from Reiner who still was sitting on the bench

Jean pulled out his phone to see if there was a response yet but all he saw were these words under his text: 

"Read 11:55 am"

- sorry peeps i got busy with college so i wasn't able to write anything new recently but <3 hope you guys enjoyed this chapter even if it was just dialogue but i have 3 chapters already planned and they will be worth it

- btw ik its really soon, the whole date but will it go as planned?  or will jean f it up...or maybe yn 

- sometimes theres things that i write and im like jean would never say that and then i read it in his voice and im like bruh he would LMAO

-tbh where is colt? why'd they break up? hehe you guys are gonna find out in a few chapters

-whenever i write jeans inner thoughts, i think of joe goldberg from the show "you"

idk if anyone noticed in the last chapter when colt was talking about the concussion he gave to the guy on the opposing team, he was talking about jean...okay that was prob obvious tho bc i mentioned horseface in the sentence but still i thought ppl would have commented about it LOL
