We teleported to the place that was always on mind. Home.... I never thought I was gonna see this place again. We appeared in the living room! I stumbled to the floor and I couldn't get up! Sylar, who was with me, was stumbling to stand as well but managed to get to his feet. I sat there, I had caught a glimpse of police tape. Sylar tried to pull me up but I pushed his hands away and got up myself. Police tape lined the entrance of the hallway leading to my host's bedroom. I stumbled to the police tape, my mind seemed to be somewhere else. I was going through the motions as I walked down the hallway. I got to the bedroom door, my fingers grazed the door knob before turning it. Sylar tried to pull me away with him but I forced him away, throwing him across the room! I had to see it for myself. I opened the door, seeing where the murder took place. Blood was spattered against the wall, it drenched the floor and bed. I walked out, closing the door behind me, Sylar raised his hand to me.
"Do it!!" I screamed. "Please," I said softly. I closed my eyes and braced myself for death forgetting I couldn't die. I opened my eyes, Sylar had put his arm down. "Now, give me a minute," I said going into my room finding some clothes that wouldn't fit in my suitcase and put them on. All that was left was a black printed t-shirt that had dream catcher on it. It almost seemed fitting. I chuckled, I wished this all to be a dream. I changed into some yoga pants that I barely saw under my bed. I guess it's good I didn't see them the first time. I walked out of my old room, closing the door for the last time. I took a deep breath. "Let's, go " I walked past Sylar out the door. Sylar followed me out. I walked straight out of the building and down a street. I past a lot of people in the street. A lot of people stared at me as I walked, probably recognizing me from TV. 'MISSING: SKYLAR GREY'. I could just see the words in my mind. But, I wasn't in the mood to stop and explain to these people where I've been, where I'm going, and how I'm not dead.
I turned around to see that Sylar was no longer behind me. I knew he wasn't gone though, maybe just out of sight of the public for a moment. But I knew he'd just reappear and screw with my life a little more. I turned down the same ally I found out who he was. Sylar found himself there as well, you could see that he recognized it as well. I grabbed him by the arm this time.
"Any place we're going?" I asked, looking up at Sylar. He didn't answer but his mind spoke for him."Texas?" He's mind spoke again. I closed my mind and thought of the place Sylar wanted to go. In an instant we were there.
We were on the side of a road. There wasn't much around. I looked around for a bit. The sun was maybe about an hour and a half from setting, but the sun was still bright and still hot. A sign read 'Odessa Texas in 3 miles'.
"Odessa?" I said out loud looking to Sylar who seemed to be gathering his thoughts. I saw a car far off in the distance, I raised my arm and began to hitch hike. In the corner on my eye I saw Sylar walk off. I was torn between waiting to see if this guy was gonna pick me up and walk with sylar. I bounced up and down a couple times hesitant with what to do. Sylar was getting further away as the car slowly approached. Then I threw my arm down and ran to catch up with Sylar who seemed to know exactly where he was going.
A couple miles in we saw what looked to be a start of a town. Sylar pulled out his black hat to cover his face. When we approached a busy area he held my hand. This time he wasn't gripping my hand as tightly. He held it as if he were my father... We walked through the town, people with children, people in couples, and people on business past us without a single thought or strange look given to us. It was as if we blended in. After we passed the town I looked to sylar.
"Where are we going?" He had at thus point let go of my hand.
"Paying a friend a visit" he said back. We kept walking to a parking lot. He went to an older car. It had a long end and was a brown and greenish color. He popped it open with his mind. I couldn't help but think that I too would be able to do that. I went to hop in but immediately stopped. The air in the car was unbearably hot. I held the door open for a moment and let it air out. Sylar walked to the back of the car and pulled off the licence plate. He was getting better at this fugitive thing. He then popped the trunk and hid the plate. The car was now cool enough to enter. I stepped in, the car smelt of cigarettes. An ash tray in the cup holder. I picked it up and threw it out the door. Sylar looked at me funny.
"I'm sorry, did you need that?" I said in a smart tone. He stayed silent. I closed my car door while he hot wired the car."What's your friend's name" I asked, the sound of sparks coming from underneath the dashboard.
"Claire " he said, his voice was a strained. He seemed to be struggling.
"Why are we paying, Claire, a visit," I asked. I started to adjust the chair a little. Pulling it a little closer to the front while slightly leaning it back for comfort.
"She owes me something," he grunted a little irritated now.
"What does she owe you?" I pushed knowing I was getting on his nerves.
"Stop asking questions or I really will kill you!" he yelled. I remained silent but I smiled in his face. I could help but feel he deserved it, and he deserves a lot worse for what he did...
He finally got the car running and we began to drive. It was silent in the car, his crazy side was beginning to come out again and I could sense it. I was starting to get a little concerned. We pulled in a empty lot in a nice neighborhood. There were large houses, green grass, the atmosphere was nice here. It was the type of place I'd like to live in one day.
"Which house?" I asked snapping out of my fantasy world. I looked around to see a particular house.
"It's a block away from here," he started getting out of the car. I unstrapped the seat belt about to get out when Sylar motioned me to stay put. Then I watched him slink into the shade of some houses, it was almost scary how he did it. The fact that it was nearly dark scared me too. I popped open the door and closed it swiftly. The car door squealed as it shut. I walked down toward the main road. No one was around but in my peripheral vision I saw a familiar vehicle. Bennet...? That small worry was growing in my stomach as Bennet drove up, he glanced over and stopped the car immediately! Without thought, I jumped into the back of the car.
"Sylar is visiting someone named Claire?" Somehow in that situation it meant something. Bennet stepped on the gas! Within seconds we pulled up to a house nearly driving into it! He jumped out faster than I thought humanly possible! He pulled a gun from his belt, kicked down the door, and fired three shots!
